Quick question.... I'm getting into invention and so at the mo i'm making hundreds of bpc's based on what i read a while ago it no use making max run bpc's of mods so i've been doing 300 or so runs. Is this correct? or should i be making 1500 run copies? Also whats best runs for ships?
Thanks

For modules use max run BPCs as that will give you 10runs + decryptor modifier.
As for how many runs a max run is just enter 999999 in the field when you start copy and it will tell you. Modules are either 100, 300, 1000 or 1500 depending on which one you use.
For ships use either max run or 1run BPCs, nothing else. Max run will only give you an advantage if you use a decryptor as it gives you 1run + decryptor modifier. If you don't use a decryptor both 1run and max run will give you 1run.

Thats great thanks, i guess i'll have to check wether i made the correct run bpc's and start again if not.... They dont really take long to do so not much of a problem. Looks like i missed out on the massively inflated prices on armor mods so it's not so much of a hurry now

Are you saying that if you use a 1 run ship BPC that you will only ever get 1 run regardless of the decryptor used?

No
1run + no decryptor = 1run T2 max run + no decryptor = 1run T2 1run + 4run decryptor = 4run T2 max run + 4run decryptor = 5run T2
Clear enough?

Here
I only have one thing to add: MaxRunsOutputBPC is not determined by type as I assumed at the time, but related to the possible max run on a true T2 BPC copy from an original. If the max number of runs is 1-99 the MaxRunsOutputBPC = 1 if the max number is 100+ then MaxRunsOutputBPC = 10.
In plain lagauage you can say that the number runs on the T1 copy will be directly proportinal to the resulting number of runs on the invented T2 BPC.

Yea. This seems right. One more aspect I would like to ask about. Do you think the number of runs affect the chance for the invention? By a mistake I managed to do invention on 300/1000 runs bpc instead of 1000/1000 runs. I got the impression that these jobs were more successful than the 1000/1000 jobs.

Max run vs 1run BPCs don't seem to affect ship invention regarding success, nor is the addition of ships.
The only things that appear to affect the chance is skill, meta item with level 1+, and decryptor.

Use the best Meta item you can. If that's too expensive for your tastes, try the second best.

A question. Is there a real difference between using a x1.0 decryptor then not using one?

If you use a 300 run copy instead of a 1000 run max copy (or a 100 run when 300 is the max), you get proportional runs out of 10 rounded down. That means 3 runs instaed of 10 (+ any decryptor modifier)
yes there is a difference using a 1x decryptor. No effect on chance or runs but your BPC will be ME -5 / PE -1 instead of ME -4 / PE -4
just means that your build times will be slightly faster. can matter on some modules that take long to build.
