upgraded to Omega , was fun to learn exploration , but the future not looking good...
To lose all with no time to react to stupid camp again and again 3 second , that all , you get blown up

Yep, this is what they do not tell you when you upgrade, and this is what is killing the game. Gate camps and suicide ganking machines are an exploit of the game. A glitch in the design left on purpose by CCP which prevent the game to grow. |

Just stay in high-sec and train-up. You can make upwards of 200m ISK an hour blitzing L4s and Burners. Zero risk. Plus it pisses the low-sec and null-sec players off to no extent...

Depending on what system you go to it can be VERY dangerous.
Here is some hints that I picked up over my last 3 weeks...
- ALWAYS CHECK LOCAL, keep it separate from your other communications chat tabs. So you can see who is in the system with you.
- When moving from system to system, check your planned route before hand to see how many pilots are in or have been in that area in the last 30min. You can do this in your map with the filters. VERY HANDY... will keep you from blundering into a gate camp.
- ANYWHERE outside of high sec is the wild west. Shoot first, or run, but dont think, you dont have time to think.
I go places in a T1 Probe I probably shouldnt go. I live and operate in low sec, 0.4 down to 0.1 systems. I will venture out into Null Sec every so often for a few expeditions. But I do it in a cloaking Probe, with nothing I cant afford to replace, I think that probe is at most 4mil... maybe 6. When I go out to Nullsec in that ship I go data site and relic site hunting. I can easily make 20-60mil in one of those and get out before anyone can get to me.
Lastly set up your tabs on the right with information you NEED. Get rid of all of the extra stuff, like asteroids and floating junk, only put PVE and PVP contacts on one tab, Nav waypoints on another (stations, gates, celestials, personal nav points).
Trust me, it is a lot better when you know how to escape or avoid the fight you dont want. |

First of all avoid Tama like the plague, it is camped all the time. Your best best is to go in and out via WH's find one in hisec and off you go. Though once you get into 0.0 and WH you will find bubbles which will also annoy you a lot and of course people who camp sites for kills. This game is harsh and hard for the hunted and solo players, if you can deal with that and do well you will win Eve.
EDIT: If lowsec is what you want to do try less inhabited hisec to go into lowsec. (I thought to add this and after I edited Avaelica Kuershin made this point.)
When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

If one falls to a gate camp in one system, then avoiding that system in future might be wise.
There are safer ways of getting to low or null sec than through choke points such as Tama. They might just take a little longer. |

Looking at some of the other threads in here today that learning curve can catch you in highsec too.
There are strategies to avoid gate camps. Cloaking is one of them and now that you are omega you can use cloaks. If they don't have a bubble aligning to a warp point and activating your MWD and cloak at the same time, then before your mwd turns off deactivate your cloak and warp. Practice it a bunch of times in highsec to get used to it. You can also mwd+cloak to try and crash the gate.
even better would be to train up and use a ship with a covert ops cloak as you can warp cloaked.

you don't like camps, then get a few friends and go bust the camp. or heck, fit up a mwd+cloak ship and run their camp a bunch of times just to annoy them. camping creates content for the campers, the victims, and any pvpers that are just looking for a fight.
if you don't like ganks then don't make yourself a target. Hauling in a ship with a paper bag for a tank just isn't smart, likewise mining in a barge that only focuses on yield and cargo hold makes you an easy kill. Or getting greedy and hauling so many billions of isk that it becomes profitable for 20 people to gank you. Ganking has been nerfed a number of times, concord response times have been made faster multiple times, insurance payouts got removed for criminals, and looting the wreck creates a suspect timer for the looter.

A new pilots future in eve is to lose a lot of ships, and over time begin to lose them less and less. Gatecamps and ganking suck but they're part of a PvP centric game. You'll replace the losses you suffer now, you'll get more used to operating in dangerous space, but understand that at its core, EVE was designed so your days are ruined 99% of the time by other players.

Honestly, even if my advice is too late, when you happen to run into gate camps several times, chances are you are doing something wrong.
For one thing, your map has filters so you can filter for exploding player-ships so you are warned when a certain system is "hot". Another way to keep your ship from exploding is looking for choke points in Null or LowSec, because those are frequently camped. Also avoid playing in time zones where tons of people are playing, if possible. If I'm on a longer exploration-trip, I tend to ignore choke points like that and instead travel through W-Space until a random wormhole spits me out in HighSec again.

Do you know what they tell you right at the beginning? They tell you that you are never safe, and that you will loose ships. If you fly around in everything you have at once, you only have yourself to blame.
Do you know what they are telling you upon entering lowsec? They give you a popup warning you that you are entering extremely dangerous territory.
You simply cannot claim they haven't told you. They have, multiple times. If you refuse to listen/read, then there's literally nothing they can do, except wait for you to learn it the hard way. |

To Utama: Learn how to beat them. Use instant-aligning ships to get out before they can even lock you, use ships with cloaking devices and MWDs to get out before the find and lock you, use ships with warp core stabilisers so they can't point you, use the tools (in-game and 3rd party) to gather intel about the route you intend to travel, avoid the shortest route from HiSec trade hubs to low/null, talk to people, get assistance where necessary.
The tools are there to avoid those seemingly unfair instakill-superdeath-lose-everything moments. Use them.

Huh?
This all comes back to those who believe losing a ship is "losing" the game. You will lose ships. Lots of ships. Camps happen.
Situational awareness is key. But so is a positive attitude. I lose lots of ships. Whatever. I have a solid revenue stream in place to compensate. |

Some very good advice in this thread.
Should be mentioned, there are quite a few Low-sec systems that are practically deserted. 1-2 jumps an hour, and most of them are Alpha explorers in disposable frigs. Pretty dead all told, and a haven for those that like a little peace and quiet.
Gate camps are no different to any other aspect of Eve, they are a learning experience. Once you know what they are, where they are, and how they work, avoiding them is pretty straight forward. That's not to say bad luck can't bite you every now and then, but if you learn how to exploit the profits in low sec the occasional loss is largely irrelevant.

I have nothing against gate camps, but I think the game would encourage pvp without them I am convinced about that ! I go into camps on purpose with a 1.7s aligning interceptor, loaded with PLEX, and show them my middle finger in local each time, and even attack them with my alts. But for new player it's a pain in the ass to get around them or fight them and they need to be informed about their existence in a proper way. |

If you want to learn all there is about exploration consider joining the Signal Cartel. There you will have access to both a vast amount of information from experienced explorers and also some Corpmates to get intel on such things as gatecamps and pirates looking to kill you.
Now granted if you don-Št like EVE:s PvP system it won-Št really matter but please be aware that there are loads of ways to avoid gatecamps. Personally I use Wormholes which tend to be safer on 'the other side' though they to can be camped ofcourse. If you don-Št like the idea of Wormholes consider using the Map where you can get free Intel on how many players have been killed (if any) in the system you plan on travelling to. |
