when was the last change in this game that actually benefited pvpers?
"fixing" loggoffski? "reducing" lag during fleet battle? changing gangs to fleets?

hmmm Warp to zero...theres a bubble for that... HP Buff... use T2 ammo or drones...or just seriously pound away at the armor..not that hard Probing Mission runners...yeah...thats one drawback in the game...but it makes missions harder and fun knowing regular players can become part of the mission

-errrm, Before warp to zero, we had instas. only newbs dont have them. -HP buff is a direct result of the 5 secound pvp.. -mission runners are still easily probable.. super easy if they use drones... FFS.. use a covert ops to scan... and they actualy made scanning easier, back then you need 3 probes, use your brain to scan, and wala.. now is a clickfest... but yeah use a covert ops.

So, retitle this thread "I was under the illusion that this game was supposed to make it easy for me to solo gank with my feeble skills so I could pretend to be a cool kid, why do they keep making it so it requires skill and teamwork", and you'd be closer to what you really meant I guess.

Can't remember the last time I was attacked by 1 ship. If you attack with a gang, why shouldn't I defend with a gang?

You obviously like easy kills. Mission runners worth killing are usually running lvl 3-4. You want to get in there and kill a target who is already tanking 20-30 rats?

we all had instas anyay.
all this 'nerf' meant is people without a proper corp, or new players, got ganked slowboating towards gates less often.
its saved everybody loads of time and aggrovation and maybe even cleared up the lag they were apparently causing.

I'm going to test out my political spinning skills and see how this works.
WTZ - More people feel safe, so more people are leaving empire and flying into low sec. More pilots = more targets for piracy.
HP Buff - Fights now last longer, they're not harder. That makes both sides plan more. To the not-so-observant you'd think that more HP means you're safer. Carebears thinking they're safer means they risk more. That makes more (unprepared? foolish?) targets for piracy.
Probing Mission Runners - I'll agree with you on this one, but I think it was needed. It was WAY too easy to find a missioner before and needed adjustment. If they didn't, a much smaller number of people would leave High Sec to run missions.
I run missions in 0.1 (1 hop from 0.0 at most) all the time. I've never been scanned down, but honestly, all the people in my area of space have more things to worry about than me makin a little bit of money. I'm sure if they cared about lil ol me, they'd kill me fast enough.
I'm a carebear and generally don't like piracy on principle, but I feel like this has been a constructive arguement. I'd be happy to continue.

Even, or especially on the industry, economics and politics you only compete with other players. Player versus player. PVP, if you will.

So true.
As for changes that have reduced pvp. WCS and ECM nerfs. Both did harm to the pvp system bringing the game more to a "who has the bigger epeen" for tank/gank and away from trying to think about smart options by altering the rules of engagement throught the use of various modules. Before the nerfs you had to think about what the opponent might bring, and set up a bit of ECCM or try to play with WCS vs Warp distruptor/jammer. With the nerfs, mostly no-one carries them, so 2 subgames were efficiently removed from the game, making it more f1-f8 and lets see who has the biggest epeen vs what it was before. Trying to outthink and then outfight the enemy. ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |

That's not player vs player, that's player + 20-30 rats vs player. There is a subtle difference between player vs player and downright player killing.

To be honest, I don't see it the same way as you title your thread.
As far as I can see CCP has reduced single target ganking and increased pvp gang/fleet opportunities.

They have never nerfed PVP because Eve has never had PVP.
It's either some guy who wants to gank you while you're mining, or 50 guys waiting on the other side of the gate with a bubble.
Eve reminds me of a prison, nobody's really fighting anybody, everybody's busy tryin to give each other manlove.
All these weenies whining about "pvp" started whining when they introduced WTZ.
What did we have before WTZ? Instas.
But n00bs didn't have instas.
So who were you killing before WTZ?
n00bs, thats who. So you're complaining that you can no longer kill newbies.

good PVPers are those that like to loose ships but will go in for the kill against the odds ( and a lot of the time it works Bad PVPers are those that use lots of spying and shadow tactics to avoid loosing their ship while attacking others.

Why so many complaints about warp to 0 all the time? Warp to 0 will lure more clones into low-sec at the end.
If chicken-hearted pies camp a gate every day it's just a fair chance to warp to 0 instead of beeing grabbed by lazy campers in 25km all the time. Lame! I just say: jump to the other side and catch. The actual usual way ... and it unfortunately works very well. So no reason to whine all the time about 0km. Adapt and evolve, fuddy-duddies!
