A buddy of mine shared with me his corp is underway building a pair of Rorquals in a C2 WH.
It got me thinking... what could reasonably threaten a Rorqual in that environment? I think the biggest ship that can get in a C2 is a cruiser, correct?
What type of T3 firepower would it take to fight past the shield reps of a properly fitted Rorq? And would they be able to withstand the offensive capabilities of sentry drones (I believe Rorqs can carry Sentries..) ?
Curious on your thoughts. |

One on one probably not much. But wormhole gangs always travel in...gangs. And they hunt in C2s as much as any other class. Rorquals die in wormholes all the time - sometimes by as few as 4-5 ships. I'd go as far as to say that any gang from a wormhole corp (which are notoriously strong) could drop a solo Rorqual if they found it.

Even a C1 will accept battlecruisers. A gang of T3 cruisers can absolutely wreck a Rorqual in J-space, so even a Rorqual in C1 has to be babied with extreme care, particularly since one cannot rely on Local. |

well with indy core on is sitting duck. panic button wont save you it will only sdelay your death. but what with situation when you have two rorquals and have spare panic buttons in cargo hold and once one burns out you refit for another you will eventually run out of them but could relatively long extend rorqual death? someone explain how whole panic works. |

A C2 can fit just about anything (Orca and under) while as mentioned above a C1 can fit BC and under.
Given that most gangs in EVE (WHs or otherwise ) are BC and below being in a low class WH really does not mean anything. Hell people kill Rorqals with bombers all the time and you could fit hundreds through ha C1. |

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

FTFY
You want a real fleet comp that'll ruin a Rorqual's day:
Logi: 2 Nestor 1 Guardian
Neuting: 2 Neut Legions and/or 1 Bhaalgorn
DPS: 6 T3 Cruisers, or Battlecruisers.
That would effectively trash any rorqual with time and no backup, The reason why they're more difficult in nullsec is basically cynos and chained panic buttons.

You can fit like, what, 600 bombers through a fresh 1 bill hole? So that's about 60 bombers through a crit one. So that and like 2 sabers logged off with a scout. would do 40k+ dps and perma-tackle you.
Assume only half get in so 18-20k+ dps with void bombs. It's a pretty dicey scenario, you might make it, you might not. It would depend entirely on fit/numbers and how many of them you can kill/drive off as the fight goes, how many friends you have and so on, and on.
Just play with those sorts of numbers and get some guesses.
TLDR: The trouble is never randoms; it's a seeded scout and your HS being 6 from amarr. |

Remote sensor dampening should work on Rorquals 100%. So, if you are alone, it would take Arazu + Information links boost and you will be looking at default targeting range of 200 km down to 16 km with 4 damps. This is according to Pyfa.
But I have a feeling that Pyfa is not calculating this number correctly, so my Excel is saying that 4 point damp with boost should bring you down to 11.8 km.
Rest is what ever - as long as they can out dps / neut you.

A well tanked and fitted Rorqual can tank a Fleet with Neut and damage for a very long Time, but you will never get out of the Tackle. Maybe you are lucky and the aggressor need to go to sleep , or you can batphone.

Some guy managed to get a rorq into a C13 a while back and we managed to murder him with only HICs, T3 dessies, and some stealth bombers. Only 7-8 pilots total. Took forever, but he died, and that was with frig hole restrictions and limited numbers.
In a C2? Where they can drop T3 cruisers on you? It wouldn't take much. |

In most cases yeah - few years back a corp mate decided to shoot my (dual rep/links/boosters) rorqual for lols with a moros, awhile later when still no nearer breaking its tank he added an alt in a bhaal - about 12 minutes later he conceded defeat. |

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.
