The only thing you can trust a person to do in EvE is to make ISK or have fun... generally at your expense, especially when you're left as a molten pile of slag.
That said, I've trusted many people, even those with -10 standing to me, and I haven't gotten blown up. Mostly because autopilot to a preferred station in the system is my panic button. And because I generally trust them until they get within ~14 AU of me. (AKA my D-Scan range.) |

DMC is the large letters in my name which are my initials in real life. When I first created my character 8+ years ago, players were only allowed to have 2 names for their character so I made sure my real life initials were included in the name. Over the years I've had players say I shouldn't sign my forum posts and to them I've always said it's not my signature. It's my initials which makes it a bit more personal without being overly formal. Also it's much easier to type and say DMC compared to spelling or saying DeMichael Crimson. By the way, here's a link to a reply I posted listing the Core Fitting Skills. DMC
Tbh they're saying you shouldn't sign your posts because it's pointless not because it's formal. You and the rest of us all have our names clearly displayed next to every post. Writing the full name would be even more rediculous.. but either hurts that little bit at the back of my head ;)

The answer to your question is NO!!! never trust anyone you don't know in RL. You WILL get burned. EVE is the ultimate sandbox for bullies, griefers and people who wish to take advantage of others. Their typical response would be dumb things like I did you a favor, its how you learn, blah, blah. Also never buy from local, or accept contracts or trades unless you have read them very carefully. |

I prefer to be called DMC and despite what others may think or say I will continue to initial all my posted replies in these forums.

The answer to your question is, am I willing to lose all that I put forward here? I have two ships, a few million isk, and a desire to get better at the game. You will blow up, you will lose ships. The trick is to know if you can: A: Recover? B: How long will that take? C: Remember that this is just a video game? (hint: if this game feels like a job, anD that is easy to do, IT IS NOT!)
Tonight my dumb *** mis-clicked on a wormhole while watching YouTube on the other screen and thought it was a gala event site. Blindly I targeted the red things because I was too engrossed in that YouTube video... then I fired at the red thing in my experimental passively shielded Machariel. Only after a causal glance, expecting cruisers to spawn did I realize my stupidity... Those are Drifter Battleships! Webbed?!! Scrammed??!!! OH SH_(pop).
Insurance payment notice
floating in a pod (and spamming the warp button because Drifters are reported to pop pods too)
Yes, I screwed up. Yes I lost a half billion isk. (You older folks remember when the Marcharial was billion isk ship? Pepperage Farms does!) .. but am I mad?
Nope.
A: I screwed up. I admit it B: did I lose a lot of isk? Yes. C: Can I get it back? Yes. D: DID I HAVE FUN!?!?... Actually yes. I laughed my @$$ off. E: Who's fault is it? Say it... SAY IT! .
mine
I love this game.
I know I can get another ship. If all your stuff gets blown up in this game, learn from it.
I know you'll be mad, but it happens. Look at your keyboard, look at your mouse, then look at your screen.
IT IS A VIDEO GAME
Now get back in your rookie ship and start over. It isn't the destination, it is the journey.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!
