That just isn't how Eve Online is. It is not a case of getting good weapons or better ships, Eve is like a game of rock, paper, scissors, it doesn't matter how shiny the scissors the still lose to rock. It is a game where situations are king, and fitting for that situation is required. If you approach Eve Online as a sort of grind to the top, you will fail a great deal.
In any case if you want to run FW missions, a myrmidon is a poor choice. It is relatively slow, missions take place some distance away from agents, you are very easy to catch in a gate camp, and the sort of fits that are great at PVP aren't so hot in PVE for the Myrm. Fits like the triple rep, dual cap booster variety can tank well enough in a PVP situation but, aren't going to let you run that many missions on the cap boosters you can fit in cargo.
The worm works pretty well for level 1-3, it doesn't really do the damage to run l4s quickly though, a group of worms will work though, and are less worried about the webbing frigates than bombers would be (which are probably the most common ship still for l4 FW missions, though less in Gallente/Caldari missions due to the ewar). For l4s if you want to solo, the Stratios, Gila, and VNI are probably the most reasonable choices, all can easily tank the missions with a 100mn AB fit, or a heavy tank fit.
First and foremost though, remember these are assassination missions, kill the commander or industrials or stargate or whatever, don't worry about anything else unless a webbing frigate gets on you. Also, it is much easier to simply avoid the damage with an oversized afterburner than it is to tank all of the damage, when I ran a FW corp, we just used 2-3 10mn shield buffer Algoses and ran level 4 missions with those, we also killed whoever came into our mission to fight us, or at the very least pushed them off. You don't need big expensive ships, just ones that go fast with a low sig and can put out at least 400dps while kiting around.
Also regarding beacons, get an instawarp ceptor, go around to each of the mission systems, pick up a mission, then create a route to all of your mission systems, fly there in your ceptor, right click in space and say warp to the mission, this will open them and create a warpable beacon in space. Once you have opened all of them fly to your PVE ship and go get in that. If you open your mission with your PVE ship, you are letting everyone in local know exactly what you are doing and when, if you open your missions early though, it isn't apparent if it is "your" mission or not when you come back into local.
Also it just isn't worth doing any missions but level 3s and 4s. It is easier just to plex to get your standing up enough to do 3/4s than grinding 1s and 2s for little payout. |
