I've been getting ganked lately and podded, I could care less about losing the ships but it's the pods that really set me back. Should I get a jump clone and use that for travelling to null?
Can I just explore null for an hour, swap back to my main clone with all the implants and do the same thing a few hours later or is there a limitation on how often you can swap between jump clones?
Thanks. |

As I remember , with max skills, you can only jump into a new clone every 20 hrs 24 with basic skills. If I have any implants at all I usually use +3 or less and only in the 2 relevant attributes to what i am training. |

you can swap between clones that are in the same citadel without a cooldown, switch to an empty clone for nullsec, if you get podded you end up at home in a new clone, return to citadel and switch back to your implant clone

You can put a jump clone at NPC stations in nullsec or Thera. In Providence you can dock at outposts as a neutral (there may be a docking fee) and you can put jump clones as a neutral in at least some outposts. I used to jump neutral ALTS to nullsec for PI before they jacked the price up.
You probably won't be able to dock or put a jump clone in a citadel unless you are "blue" to the alliance that owns it.
In Providence. it is reasonably safe to fly down in a travel fit Interceptor (<2 sec align) and there is a fair size market in F-YH5B. The locals won't shoot at you but everyone else will and, unless you are a member of a Provibloc alliance with access to the intel channels, you can't tell them apart.
Practically speaking, you can jump between highsec and nullsec once a day - the Infomorph Synchronizing skill will reduce the wait time by an hour per level but it doesn't go below 19 hours.
If you want to be an explorer in nullsec, your best option is to join a nullsec corporation. This will give you a base of operations, warning if "reds" are approaching and jump freighter service to get your loot to market. |

Use wormholes to get to and from Nul. Way safer than traveling by gate

Traveling in null is much much easier when you are blue to the locals and have access to intel channels. |

If you are only travelling from A to B, use an insta-warp (fitted fo <2s align time) interceptor with some tank against smartbombs. Ares is a good pick. For exploration I recommend using the citadel clone swap and wormholes (Thera) to travel.

I traveled to nulsec yesterday (a holiday) in an Interceptor.
The short route was 43 jumps, but I took the longer "safer" route through less-contested regions.
I went in a travel-fit (1.76 sec time-to-warp) Ares Interceptor, and encountered one gate with (6) drag bubbles and nobody watching them, and another gate with two cruisers. Beyond that, I only saw a few people (1-5 per system) in local. |

If you are into exploration you really should consider joining us in the Signal Cartel. If you find our *flower power* attitude to the game a bit to much, I can certainly understand those that do, atleast make sure to join our public channel EVE-Scout if you haven-¦t already. |

BTW, with good skills you can do exploration in a ceptor. Since the market in Jita was down today and no interesting fleet, I took my relic ceptor out for a wild ride through Stain -> Esoteria -> Paragon Soul -> Stain, and back to highsec via Thera ... finally dumping a nice load of 550M into buy orders in Jita.
