so the greate ccp mess with everything..
first plan was to get some good ships t2 bpo`s was about to spend 40-60 bill on one.. but hey ccp decided no this is not the way it shall be anymore. lets change it... man.. worked like mad man for months finally getting the iskis for a nice t2 bpo.. but noo.. ccp just find out its better to change it.. well well thats life the are gods..
so they removed 1 fun part of eve.. work really hard and you might get a t2 bpo you can live on and relax and see the iskis running in.. but no.. after a few years they just find out lets change it... greate for all the ppl who worked their ass of...
and what now... after the last patch did they also mess with the npc ratts?
now this game is getting frustrating... you cant just change something in the middle of the game.
same with the gall motheship.. been working hard both skill and industry to be able to fly that thing cuz it had 10% bonus to drones.. now what happend... yep ccp knew better... and changed it.. do it look like i wanna fly that ugly gall mothership if it was not for the danm drone bonus... no..
you cant make a long term plan in this game.. ccp just change it as it fitt they best.. how loong can ccp keep messing with this thing..
sett some danm lines and stick to it.. no change it 100 times and mess ppl over...
im just getting sick of this happening over and over and over again..
greate work ccp...
dont we all love you..

What is the current status of the lottery anyway? I know they're scrapping it, but when? Have they already or are there still bpo's being handed out?

You know I was gonna train for nanophoon I never thought they would nerf it, also geddon with 8 hs could kill other bs without having to tank I really wanted that but CCP changed it, I trained a long time for t2 javeling torps but they were nerfed :( I hate CCP
This is balancing, they can change anything they want if it's for the better of the game, they've been talking a long time about changing t2 bpos to somehow enable you to get t2 items without having the bpo reverse engineering etc, and nyx? it's still awsome

Edited by: madaluap on 26/04/2007 23:39:55 LOL @ this thread. Working your ass off for T2? yes not all T2 bpo are uberawesome, but a lot of work . Send 1 hauler or 1 freighter to jita each week, buy minerals/parts and than dump it all where you have your bpo. Set production for 1 month and tadaa, free isk.
Let me say it again, there are plenty of T1 bpo that are a lot better than some T2.
Besides mister Douglas, dont you realise that the value of a BPO is priced on the ammount of money you can earn in 1 year with it. If prices of T2 drop, the value of the BPO drops. This means that you can buy your BPO cheaper and have them earned back faster + you can buy more BPO with your isk.
IF you have the BPO and prices are stable on that item, you can only make profit. Sell BPO tomorrow for 100 mil extra and you just made 100 mil. Build 6 months, earn 2 bil, than sell for 4 bil again.
Because this is a online game, ccp MUST change things. How do you think this game would fare if CCP kept introducting/modifying new ships/items and not balance the old eve with it. This game would never run year after year.
We would still be flying battleship as the biggest thing ever + have only cruisers in 0.0 belts. _________________________________________________ Breetime

So you have a T2 BPO, so when you use it you dont have to use datacores, or risk loosing the datacores with no product to show for it.
So you have a zero risk blueprint and can produce with investing less into your production, I fail too see where the problem is ? ______________________________

Im confused. you supposedly have 60b isk, and you want to dump it all on a t2 bpo to see the cash flowing in?
Dude.. are you ok? You have enough isk to buy 30 dreads/ 60 carriers / 3 motherships/ your own outpost, hundreds of battleships or command ships, etc.. etc.. you can live on that 60b for like ever for as long as you play the game. And dont tell me its not all that much isk. Only about 1% of the population have an active wallet over 1b isk or close to that figure.

Well, the BPOs will be turned into long-run BPCs, so it's not quite a 60 bil to 0 ISK loss...but to be honest I have no idea what a 1000-run T2 BPC would be worth.
Honestly though, they've been talking about removing the T2 lottery for a really long damn time, it's your fault for not paying attention. No sympathy. <sig> IBTL! IBDS! IBTC! 1st in a BoB Post! And other such forum tom-foolery. Join my Corporation! |

heres a novel idea how bout balancing things before releasing it.
I believe what the op is agravated about and many times I have as well is the fact that ANYTHING in this game takes months if not years to train up properly. Then right when you get there it gets nerfed and it's no longer any good.
At that point usually it's some nub that trained up some crap by accident that gets the awsome ship whatever cause he was a nub didn't know what he was training and now has a wtf pwn mobile cause some stupid patch went threw and suddenly his crappy char is now umber. while you spending much more time refining certain skills taking them to lvl 5 or spending boko isk on something either a t2 bpo or mods now has crap in his hand not because he messed up but simply cause someone decided it needed balanced 2 years after it is released. A really long damn time? Thats funny. I dont remember them mentioning it in 2003, or 2004, or 2005 infact I dont recall much about it till very late 2006. And even then it was nothing more than speculation by players. Kentucky where the goats roam and the rednecks run free |

Well it may not have been discussed in an official dev blog until 2006, but ever since I've been playing EVE there have been discussions of how to replace or improve the lottery. And even now that it's gone it's hardly a completely lost investment. All those RP can be converted directly into datacores that sell pretty well on the market or can be used to create T2 BPCs with much better reliability than hoping for a BPO in the lottery. Sorry for not being able to clarify on the official "we're going to remove the lottery" date...does anyone have an indication of when this sentiment was confirmed by the Devs? <sig> IBTL! IBDS! Protip to the OP: You've got it all wrong. If you work toward things that are uber, of course they're going to be nerfed before you get there.
No, if you want to beat the nerfgame, you have to work toward things that are broken, useless, and just plain suck. By the time you achieve them, they'll be boosted to WTFFOTM, and you'll finally be one of the sooperleet.
Now go out there and suck laddie! You deserve it! * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

If you think that the gallente mothership sucks now that it lost is 10% bonus ... well, I gladly will accept this obviously crappy ship and piece of junk from you.
Anyone who complains that motherships are weak and not worth it are out of their senses and cannot be taken serious. Those supercapitals with their immunity to e-war are completely overpowered!
And if you think that one t2-bpo isn't you earning enough money then just buy 5 or 10 of them. The prices for them are dropping accordingly so that you can buy with the mentioned 40-60 bil isk the same per-year-isk income, it is just spread now over several t2 bpo's.

That is pretty much exactly waht they can do and what you agree they can do when you log into EVE.

And dammit does anyone know when the lottery is stopping?
1) the idea to turn T2 BPO in long run BPC has been suggested by players mani times, but never confirmed by CCP, end even some post from Devs seem to support the opposite view (T2 BPO staying);
2) from the blogs/replyes about the T2 BPO lottery, it will continue until all the currently available BPO will be assigned. It was stated that it will be accelerated, but after at least 2 months after that blog, I haven't jet seen a noticeable dent in the BPO available.
It is possible that the slow decreasing of the available BPO is due to multiple factors:
a) inactive accounts with research characters; as a player has a week to accept/refuse a BPO, every time a BPO is offered to an inactive player it get struck for 1 week.
b) people doing some math and being uncertain if accepting a BPO or not. With the current prices of datacorese, accepting a BPO at the expense of 30K RP means utilizing between 600 millions to 3 billions (depending on the field) to get a BPO that may be not worth them.

At the risk of sounding rude...
MMO games like this are subject to constant change and if you don't know/realised that by now then this type of game is NOT for you. You have to expect the balance of power to shift constantly. The trick is to stay ahead of the curve, not behind it.

If you always try to aim for what is essentially broken, balance wise, you can't complain when it gets fixed/nerfed.
That's the risk you take. Accept the risk or choose something 'safe' to train or aim for (that is, something that is already balanced - something that's balanced isn't likely to get nerfed).
