Why in the hell u Can't lunch the MTU for a Corp/ for a Fleet?
Idea is simple - let a corp to scoop from MTU or decide if its dropped for yourself or corp or fleet;
Right now I can drop a MTU - and my corp mate can salvage wrecks but can't take loot and drop it to a crop hangar; Means i have to move myself again to this pocked and when scooping MTU i have to take a loot to;
No idea why it's works like now. |

I do use Noc; thats why i ask why i can't took a loot from MTU when im salvaging wrecks? I should be even able to scoop the Corp lunched MTU;
That should be a normal mechanic; |

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

no it should not that would make them OP this inconvenience is how they are balanced.

it's op because it is currently balanced around the use of player occupied ships there needs to be sufficient reason to still want to use a ship over an MTU and for the most part only the fact that it has one beam and the inconvenience of it being locked to one player are the only reasons to use something like a noc.
it's intended to be locked to one player this makes it hard to exploit with alts and means if you want to use groups for this you are better off getting a friend into a ship with tractors.
the reasons you want this to be a thing is why it would become op

I actually have to agree with OP that this doesn't make too much sense. At least with the Mobile Depot there's a serious balance consideration to making it self-only, but the MTU is basically just adding more clicks.
If I had to guess, based on CCP's comments in the bubble rework thread, there's some kind of technical limitation that prevents it from being easily launched for corp/fleet. |

@Cade - thanks for cheering, and answer!
@Lugh - well i still don't see a reason why it'll be OP as u only say " there needs to be sufficient reason" which totally put u down of this conversation... |

-1 The MTU is intended to be an item used by an individual not a corp / fleet and it needs to stay that way.
Instead of making changes to the MTU to make it more viable in corp / fleet use they need to find ways to further restrict their use in that role. Since the MTU is reasonably balanced for solo character use I favour changes to the Noctis to make it the clear choice for salvage / loot activities in a corp / fleet setting. |

.
And why it have to stay that way? U even got a point?
Most of us use two characters; One kill 2nd salvage; What is the reason to not let a MTU be scoopable by a corp/ or fleet mate if u already salvage the wrecks which u left behind?
It's really stupid that it's not able to be lunched as corp/fleet lunch;
Tell me WHAT ABUSE would it make if u let it loot for a corp/fleet mates; Im really curious about it. |

Personally I'd be fine with it still only being scoop-able by the original player that deployed it. The weird thing is that only that player can loot it, AFAIK, which basically just creates a weird situation where you need to jet-can the loot to transfer it which is just inconvenient and creates unnecessary load on the server. |

the point is to add clicks so that a DD with tractors or a dedicated salvage ship is more appealing. the MTU was added to make things easy not convenient

U really don't get it do you? U still have to use a salvage ship, u still would have to warp to some corp bookmarks to tractor beam wrecks as u dont gonna hold like 4 MTU's
Question is WHAT IS SO OP (like u mention it) in letting the MTU to be lunched for a fleet/corp so a SALVAGER can take a loot? |

launch for fleet? no
But i personally don't have a problem with them being corp anchorable.
This allows alts to come behind and scoop them up, makes it a bit easier. |

The fact that they have a "launch for self" instead of just "launch" would seem to suggest at some point at least there was an intention to have "launch for fleet" or "launch for corp". |

The added clicking isn't adding a lot though. A dedicated salvage ship will still be more efficient than an MTU. Heck a Marauder with a single tractor beam will pull stuff in faster. I think the main reason the MTU was added was because the difference between missioning with an Alt and without one was leaving as much as a third of the mission reward on the table, but unless you had a low skill alt it wasn't really time efficient to go scoop it all up.
The MTU basically creates more granularity between the very very high end ships that don't really even need an MTU, the lower end ships that have nothing equivalent and no efficient way to loot a site, and just having a low-skill character on an account that's basically just farming SP or something. |

Huh, that's a little surprising. I'm not really a fan of this application of that philosophy but I don't really have a counter argument either. |

It's Not the first time they used something like this to balance a feature.
For example it would be a huge QOL improvement if we could have book marks on our overview, however they use this limitation to balance the ui.
To be honest they have been removing alot of these (lime giving d-scan a hot key) and I think the MTU one was just added preemptively and they don't want to mess with it but who knows
