Can anyone explain this? I'm under the impression that anyone flashing red on my overview is killable by me, no questions asked.
I logged in a couple of days back and undocked, and amongst the pilots around, one was flashing red on my overview. It was a 0.5 system.
Checked his sec status. -1.9. No kill rights there. I wasn't at war with his corp. No kill rights there. I'd just logged in and undocked for the first time that day. I'd not made a jetcan or killed any NPC for him to loot steal and get flagged. No kill rights there. Checked my char sheet kill rights tab. No kill rights there.
He wasn't in a pod, and wasn't getting Concordokkened, so can't have the global criminal flag set.
Can anyone help me out, because it concerns me a bit that I might have a game mechanic I don't understand that may leave me open to attack or cause me to attack someone and get owned by the boys in blue.

Well, i think u can set corps and stuff to blinking red by using the overview options, even though u are not at war or they are flagged to u.

Sat outside Rens watching the wars, I had same problem. 2 ships started flashing red in the overview, waiting for the "You have engaged in criminal" and the ship to be blown up.
But nothing no firing no Concord and neither was pirate, not nice if you get trigger happy

NOt logged in so can't check... but are you the ONLY guy in your corp ? If he stole from a corpmate's can/wreck he should be flashing red to you too, AFAIK. Might be wrong... and it's just what the others said, just an overview bug. Or, might be you have something else also set to "flashing red" ? _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

The overview is indeed bugged sometimes. I always insta-refresh the overview before i start shooting. ( tab twice )
Ive seen my pod op close several times due to this bug..

Thanks for all your replies.
It must be an overview bug then. I'm in a one man corp, and I've not changed any overview colour or flashing settings from the standard, so he should have been solid yellow to me.
Like you Earl Black, there was a bit of a war going on around me. 3 Vs 3 or so. I wonder if this has any bearing on the appearance of the overview bug.
That's a pretty crappy bug I have to say, it potentially gives an aggressor a good few seconds jump on you while you double check if you really do have rights to attack them.
