I have a nVidia 5600 Ultra 128mb and cannot get my settings to 32bit. I seen people asking in help why cards like mine cant reach 32bit but seen no answer. I've asked this question in tech support a few days ago and so far no answer. Has anyone found a work around to this problem?

Well I got a replay today afer about a week and it said
"According to my information EVE only supports upto 24 bit resolution so I guess you'll just have to use that I'm afraid. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us again. We'll do all we can to help."
Does anyone have higher that 24 bit rez?

I can set it to 24bit + 8bit alpha, which is what 32 bit essencially is. However, when I set it to that it messed up all the alpha gradients. (i.e. the spotlights in stations showed through windows in odd ways)
16bit: 65,535 24bit: 16,777,215 32bit: 4,294,967,295
32bit is not that essential anyway.

24-bit w/ 8-bit alpha *IS* essentially 32bit like stated above. there is no 32-bit color setting.
Only a 32-bit w/ 8-bit stencel buffer setting for the hidden z-buffer options which are attained by adding the 'advancedDevice = 1' line in the prefs.ini file.

NVIDIA dropped the 32 bit Zbuffer a while ago. They pretty much only support 16 and 24 bit zbuffers.

GeforceFX5700 DOES support 32bit Z-Buffer, I would suppose all the cards newer than this do also...

He's referring to colour depth not z-buffers and if u modify the prefs.ini to include advancedDevice=1 then u do get the option of a 32bit z-buffer
CCP droppped 32bit colour rendering 4 or 5 patches back, shame really, 24bit looks nice but the 32bit looked ferkin beautiful.
Bring back 32bit colour rendering for us guys who have machines that can handle it
