your servers arent enough for 30k people anymore. 2 seconds lag again (pretty common tbh), really unplayable unless you're a miner. |

Lag sux. Probably due to the constant application of polish and eye candy graphics that CCP keeps pouring into the game.
As usual, I blame it all on Soundwave & Co.

no. Its not graphic lag, its network lag kinda you doubleclick in space and your ships takes 2 seconds to start moving. Very devastating effect during pvp encounters. I'd guess it occurs when server is overloaded and cant process requests timely. |

I haven't noticed any lag issues either (except around Jita due to the Burn Jita event). It seems like if it was an issue at CCP's end that it would impact everybody equally. I wonder if it's caused by bottlenecks somewhere else in the connection chain - i.e. that it's a regional issue. I'm in the Eastern US and virtually never experience any significant lag. |

You might want to change the password on your wifi or get your neighbor to stop downloading porn through your router. Or get a decent ISP. Not all of us have the lag you seem to be getting. Jita lag yes. Market lag yes. Occasional container lag, yes. Spaceship lag no. |

So your network and everything between your house and CCP server has been ruled out? And its all ccplz fault?
No lag here. OP needs to check his equipment. |

weird, eve is the only game I ever experienced (heavy) lag with, nor any other network related issues, but sure - its perhaps the network issue somewhere outside CCP's massively played biggest in the world single shard cluster. Alone in system, yet ship takes 2 seconds to react to input. |

It commonly is something outside of CCPs servers. Many network problem threads, it ends up being a bad jump in the connection.
The data travels thru multiple IP addresses, servers, through hundreds of miles of cable. If it was a server problem, it would be more than just 'two seconds' |

You're aware the game only operates on 1 second intervals to begin with right? Which is why I die a little inside everytime I hear someone ask if they can play in 1st person w a joystick.

Maybe stay out of nodes where huge fleet battles take place. Also 'events' such as Burn Jita are likely to cause even worse lag there then what is normally experienced.
From my own limited experience the lag situation fluctuates depending on where in New Eden I find myself, as a explorer and wormhole diver I don-¦t really have routes planned, so perhaps you should just relocate to a less 'busy' area.
Note that I don-¦t want to come of as a know-it-all (I really don-¦t know much of EVE yet) but if these ideas improve your gaming it could be worth looking into. |

I've played Eve on a cheap laptop and a dial up modem and the lag wasn't bad at at all if I wasn't in a busy area.
It got interesting when more that 3 people are on grid or loading the market.

There is never going to be no lag in Eve. If you're experiencing lag in or around Jita it's because 2000-ish players are currently trying to nuke the node.
If you're experiencing lag anywhere else it's probably because 2000-ish people are trying to nuke each other and your system just happens to be sharing the node with them. CCP are, in fact, working on dynamically moving systems with tons of activity to their own reinforced node without standing them up or down, but it turns out that this is a bit hard to do. Sort of like moving 2 miles of freeway 500 yards while the traffic on it keeps going.
Other than that the issue may very well be neither yours nor CCP's fault. It's possible something in the path your internet takes to CCP's servers is just shitting the bed. |

You've played 8.5 years, non stop, and still don't realize that just because a system is empty, doesn't mean its not under load? One "server" (blade) will run a few systems at once. Thus, big battle next door affects you in your 'empty system'.
So based off your ignorance of the obvious facts, I suggest you stop being a whining noob. |

1 blade = multiple CPUs (aka nodes) 1 node = multiple systems, though according to devs they are rarely next door. I believe they do try to keep all nullsec regions on the same nodes as eachother, but it does mean that you can tidi from a fight on opposite ends of the map.
And that brings up another thing... is OP experiencing tidi or lag? Doesn't make it clear, and makes me think he's lying about the 8.5 years because otherwise he'd be more specific. And probably less whiny.

The server ticks only once per second. Everything you do in game will have a delay, but it isn't lag per se. In PvP, I do not see that as a problem, as it's the same for everyone. |

Check your wireless connections to see how many other networks are visible to you. If it looks like a lot, switch from 2.4 to 5 Ghz for your wireless and this may solve your problem. Wifi networks bleeding into each other create a lot of interference. |

I also notived more lag since the last patch, especially in the evening. Up to 2s delay when i do certain actions, like opening right click menu to warp to a bookmark. When i have multiple clients open, some lag, some dont.
In short, the after Ascension lag is back in full force.
Im on a 100mbit cable connection. No wireless connection in between. |
