You can't fit a big tank on a Rokh with pvp modules, it's left with a 2 slot tank at most.
It's a great blaster ship but only in gang with tacklers. The Blokh is not a solo ship, a mega is going to win everytime against a Rokh without a full tank.
Such is the life of a shield tanker...

depends on the mega loadout.. if hes plated he'll lose:) spare the webber and you get a 3 slot tank. and you want to kite the mega.. so no need for a webber and you gonna be faster than the plate mega anyway.

you'd have to have one massive tank on the rokh to win that fight... no speed mods or anything. Then the question is why would the mega stay when he sees the rokh killing him faster...

Because people solo pvp in battleships nowadays, right welsh wizard?
Come on, seems like every post lately by you has been to whinge about Caldari, and asking for things like giving the Cerberus Deimos mass and agility. I mean you said your Cerb never has time for missile damage to catch up to regular sniper damage (it takes about 25 seconds at 100k), by which time everything has died (yah right, not unless you're in a blob > 50) but then you go on about the Rokh being naff because it can't tackle in small/solo pvp, which is possibly the worst time ever to be in a battleship size ship.
Blaster rokh is quite good and for gang work (which is what you DO in battleships) is awesome. Whilst the Armageddon has more range with Scorch and better DPS with its 125m3 bay, the Rokh can field a passive buffer equal to the Armageddon (88k~ HP) while being able to repair ~740 dps from the x-large shield booster, while the Armageddon can only put on 2x 1600mm plates, which is a good tradeoff.

not really.. if you can kite him in "null" range he doesn't do that much damage. and he will stay because you got this nice 24k scram on him.. if you have him half armor you even can close in and load antimatter/void. i think you all extremely underestimate this ship. and if you want we can do some fights on the test server probably my mate just sucks flying megas:)

A Gang Rokh, by Me
Highs 8x 350mm Railgun II
Mids 100mn MWD II, 1x Heavy Capacitor Booster II, 4x Remote Sensor Dampener II
Lows 2x 1600mm Plate, 1x DC II, 2x MFS II
Rigs 2x Inverted Signal Field Projector
DPS: 565 with Hammerhead IIs and Antimatter, 41km optimal 80k passive HPs, and you will absolutely destroy 2 of the other guys gang with your dampeners, while still having your MWD so you can travel through bubbles and whatnot. At a gate, you can also commence firing while being on the outside of the interdictor bubble. In fact, if you wanted to stay on the gate you could fling Javelin M with an optimal of 20km to boost it to 633 DPS w/ drones.

Yes, frequently....

What precisely is the problem with this? Both ships cost a similar amount of isk and post Deimos buff, flying a Deimos will be far preferable to flying a Cerberus because it can kill things. After this buff goes through I'd give a Cerberus pilot about a 10% chance of winning an engagement against a Deimos...

I never said any of these things, you're confusing me with someone else.

Whats your point? If you're comparing the two an Armageddon is a full two tiers below the Rokh. You're not worth arguing with are you?
Just for the record I like the Rokh, I think its a great ship because its the only one (Harpy) CCP had the sense to give a full rack of guns too, the result is a well balanced ship that is worth flying ahead of the other races ships. The rest of the gunboats are not worth flying ahead of the other races ships, they're inferior in basically every way with noteable exceptions like the Damnation, soon to be fixed in the form of a new role and half decent dps.
Go and get your 'argument for the sake of argument' kicks elsewhere, and post with your main.

Why is the Mega a better rail ship than the rokh? I recognize that its tracking bonus would be a huge help if things started getting in close but from what I can see at rail ranges the rokh outdamages the mega, at least until both are in range for uranium/plutonium t1 ammo. And for t2 Being able to use the close range ammo at 50% longer range and using lead at nearly the same range a mega can used spike without any drawbacks would seem to me to make them at least equal...

It outdamages the Mega in Antimatter, Plutonium, Uranium & Thorium ranges, which is roughly a 50km window. Spike is the fifth most damaging ammo (thermal damage is better than the kinetic on lead in most situations) so any range above Thorium and you're better off in a Megathron for damage. The Megathrons 37.5% tracking bonus more than compensates for the 25% tracking penalty when using Spike L.
Having said I still prefer the Rokh as a fleet ship, it has more staying power and can return to a fight without a rep. It is more expensive though. Forgetting my preference I'd say they're about equal in stature as fleet ships but the Mega easily wins in the versatility stakes as it has a completely different role that it performs better than any other ship in the game....
Thats how Gallente-Online works though.
Quote Dr. Cox: "Caldari pilots, like squirrels, have to gather up all these tiny little advantage acorns and use them to sustain themselves for the upcoming Gallente buff months".
