Please see the draft for some background information on topics, etc.
For those who don't know, I'll be running a 2 hour workshop. 1 hour of topic driven discussion from a panel of experts and 1 hour of question and answer for the participants.
I don't anticipate having over a dozen "students" in the workshop. So expect a good amount of discussion and knowledge sharing.
FEE
There is a 1 million isk fee. DO NOT PAY ME NOW. You can pay just before the class starts. Please read the draft.
Chat or Voice?
It will have a voice component but it will also largely take place in a chat room in EVE.
Guest speakers?
There will be guest speakers, no, I do not have a list right now. I'll post some names of possible attendee's later in the week. If you haven't heard from me yet and really want to be on the panel, contact me.
Anything else?
Not that I can think of, but ask questiosn if you want anything clarified.

Edited by: Sortiario on 02/05/2007 16:30:33 Sign me up for a "maybe", I don't know if my class is dismissed at that point. I hope this doesn't make your work more complicated. If it does, don't hesitate to remove me from the list of attendants.
One idea, however; in order to get most people to be able to attend at one time, you could find someone in european and asian time regions who can make similar workshops in their respective time zones. I'm sure they'd be honoured to work for you.

This may be an option for later sessions.
As it stands I plan on having multiple sessions of the same workshop. I don't know how many but at least one each week for the next month (4 workshops total)
If I can put together a good panel I will trust members of the panels to run workshops for other timezones (with me absent).

Exactly. I am, however, convinced that most people are able to join at 8 PM / US Central time, so the problem will only arise if the interest for the project booms, and many people want local time zone hosting. Judging from the personalities active in the Market forum, it shouldn't be hard to find someone who's qualified for hosting later sessions.

I'll give you 2 free lessons now, even though i don;t go in for that side of eve: 1) Don't post messages saying you want to learn how to scam. 2) Do your reaserch - the nightfreeze character is probably either bought or a recycled name (especially considering the end of his famous tale :) )

I'll give you 2 free lessons now, even though I don't do sarcasm this late: 1) I like to use my sarcasm when I can, and when I don't insult people personal. 2) I am well aware that Nightfreeze is not the same Nightfreeze that we all know of. ___________________ Sortiario Communication Consulting - SCConsult Communication advisory service |

It look interesting. Would be curious to attend but can't for this one. Btw, just one tip, you may want to post the time in eve time coordinate it might help people to get the time frame.
Have fun in this 100% carebearism session. ---------

Tentatively using Vent. I'll be posting updates later this week on panel speakers and some other details.

Afaik, there's a 6-hour difference from USCT to London (EVE-time). 18:00 in USCT is midnight in London, and 20:00 is 02:00.
You can remove me from the list, though, I'm pretty sure atm that I cannot attend. Sadly. ___________________ Sortiario Communication Consulting - SCConsult Communication advisory service |

we're in the retardation known as "daylight savings time" at the moment, so i believe cst is actually cdt now, and central is only 5 off of gmt for the next several months. |

I am aware of this, however, when I checked it at various sites (www.timezoneconverter.com), it stated that both US/C and GMT is in DST. And thus, the effect is neutralized.
I might be wrong, though. Please correct me if I am. ___________________ Sortiario Communication Consulting - SCConsult Communication advisory service |

if that change has occured in the past two years, then yes, that's how it is. but having lived the most of the past 15 years having to schedule everything around GMT, because of an insane schedule, i can say GMT doesn't follow the central time zone in and out of daylight savings time.

Central Standard Time (CST) = GMT-6 Central Daylight Time (CDT) = GMT-5
i think i see what you're referring to now: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/info/timezone-summer.htm
gmt is a worldwide standard, if you will, for basing time (for different types of operations involving people around the world), gmt itself, could not change without causing major problems worldwide. the uk, however, can have their own daylight savings time (british summer time or something is it?), but that wouldn't be gmt. |
