Just the Miasmos of course.
I mean really, right now what's the advantage of the ship when you get just as much space in a DST.
It could be an inherent role for the ship or part of a module/rig.
Cautious smart ore haulers will love it. And gankers will love CCP long time.

It makes sense on a role bonus for the ship because it is the ore hauler, Unfortunately I don't think that ccp will go for it because currently the way to do it requires lots of money or time, depending if its a Rorqual, a pos and module, (not sure but I think a citadel could do this too). So they wont add it to a 1 mil isk ship, and they wont adjust the ship cost(aka the minerals required to build) for this one ship because it will move it greatly farther ahead of the peers for the other races. |

No,
Having the Miasmos do this doesn't make sense. It would turn the Miasmos from something that zips between belts and a station to something that needs to hang in a belt waiting for ore to come in. A full Miasmos load of compressed ore is quite a bit so it will be waiting a long time.
In my opinion, if one ship should be given the ore compression ability then it should be the Orca. The Orca already has everything else needed to compress and store large amounts of ore. When the ore hold fills up a Miasmos can drop by to haul away the take.

The advantage is that the miasmos is a t1 hauler (cost 0,85 Mio ISK) the same space has than a DST (cost 185 Mio).
So you get the same result but pay only 0.5 % of the isk.
And no CCP should not implement this into this ship. Currently only the rorqual /POS and Citadels can do this. You have plenty of options choose one of them.

Miasmos is much cheaper and easier to skill into. Its also faster than a DST. they are its advantages.

The orca wouldn't even make sense, because all the nerfs to the rorqual the only real benefit of using the rorqual over the orca right now is the ore compression. |

There's no reason to do this.
For one, it would completely remove any point in doing ore compression in a Citadel, unless the waste/penalty was so high that you'd be stupid to actually make use of the feature.
Ore Compression is easily available in any so fitted Citadel or Engineering Complex.

This is just flatly incorrect. With the T2 Core active under the worst case on an 18km Asteroid with Drone Nav 1 a Rorqual still mines more than 2 Hulks, and boosts for over 10% more than an Orca.
It may not be worthwhile for everyone to use one over an Orca, but saying there's no benefit is just laughable. |

that must be why everyone in null is using Orca's to tank mineral prices right now...oh wait.

The advantage to the miasmos is that it costs under a million isk, can be flown by gallente alphas, and can be trained into by any omega in under 10 minutes. and can haul as much ore as a DST that takes weeks of training and costs over 100x as much.
those right there are some DAMN big benefits... although I am not 100% against the idea of some sort of specialized compression ship.
I'm imagining an ore ship, probably requiring the ore industrial skill, with ~the same skill point investment and material cost requirements as for the porpoise, no boosting capability, but with tractor beam bonuses. relatively flimsy tank (say hulk level) and small-ish ore old. (large enough to compress say 100 loads at a time or something... that number is plucked from thin air so don't put too much stock in it.)
in fact maybe make it a t2 version of the porpoise, so it trades the boosting capacity for compression ability. the role would be to act as an "intermediary" step for a fleet with booster support, where it can sit in the belt, tractoring in the miners jetcans, compressing them, and then ejecting them again for the orca/rorq/porpoise/miasmos (insert storage method of choice here) to pick up and hold on too.
would add increased risk for the mining fleet (you have an extra fairly fragile ship on the field) for increased efficiency (fewer drop offs) while reducing the afkability of it (small ore hold means you would need to be more pro-active in tractoring/ejecting) |

You could always just try mining in a system with a citadel in it. |

they could make a module that cycle.. one of different size.
so that also the porpoise and the rorqual could use them..
like small compressor for porpoise medium compressor for orca large compressor for rorqual..
xxx second cycle time, with yyy compressed ore per cycle..

Or CCP could put compression into NPC stations.
