When I played shortly after the game started the asteroid rocks were several times larger than your ship. Would take hours to consume one. Now the fields are small pebbles and dust. I understand that more players are in the game than before, but changes should have been put in place to compensate.

Instead the dev's didn't do anything and mining is gone on Eve. I'm not going to come back to this. |

I would also like to thank you for sharing.
If you want to stay and mine then lots of people will give you help.
If you don't want to come back to the game. Then bye.

CCP has made a bunch of changes to mining, however most of those changes target nullsec. It seems that highsec is mostly supposed to be boring ore and CCP doesn't seem to mind it being mined out in the popular systems. Try finding a less croweded system. Also look for mining anoms, they should have some more unique ores than whatever you can find in system.
lastly consider joining a nullsec alliance, they have some very good ore and much bigger anoms/belts, apparently spod is huge right now. the isk/hr in null is 2-3 times what it is in highsec, and if you consider the overkill on tiny roids it could even be more.

I may be wrong but I think the size and amount of rocks in Asteroid Belts is based on the security level of space. Meaning High sec has the smallest size and lowest amount of rocks, Low sec has larger size and more rocks, Null sec and W-space have the largest size and highest amount of rocks available.
I believe the main reason CCP changed the size of rocks in Asteroid Belts was for two reasons : 1- To encourage players to leave High Sec space. 2- To discourage AFK (Away From Keyboard) game play.
Another aspect that CCP wants to encourage in-game is for players to Fleet up and play in groups. However since there are players who prefer to play solo, CCP made drastic changes to Mining ships in an effort to encourage group play over solo play.
CCP also changed game mechanics pertaining to NPC rat aggro. Now NPC's give much more attention to Drones and will mark them as high priority targets. That not only affects Mining ships who play AFK, it also affects mission runners in Drone Boats who also play AFK.
Bottom line - CCP wants players to be active and present at their keyboards when logged into the game.

That's encouraging.
However two of my accounts had no characters on them. Two that had about 45 mil skill points each, shot to hell.
This means the only character I have left is my main miner. The two others were a fighter and logistics to aid the fighter. Will never make it in low sec space with just a miner. |

That's worth raising a support ticket over, if the characters have disappeared there's a chance that those accounts may have been compromised and stripped during your absence.
In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

if you put in a petition ccp might restore your characters, I'm not sure what their exact protocol is for that though.
and like I said, join a nullsec corp, they will typically have quiet systems where you can mine away. Pandemic horde and Karma Fleet are two groups that are new player friendly and take almost anyone. you will probably even be able to join mining ops and get fleet boosts further increasing your yield.
even with an alt or two for protection lowsec mining is probably suicide. I've done it, but it was in a quiet pocket that had heavy friendly presence. Also it was pretty late at night when most people aren't on and it was in a deadspace. Every other time I mined in lowsec I was the bait.

Wormhole space was introduced with grav sties that have lots of ore and you can find them in wormhole systems that are directly connected to high sec.
Null sec has seen the addition of system upgrades, one type of which is an upgrade that spawns wormhole type gravametric sites.
There are a lot of people trying to solo mine in high sec. CCP has stated repeatedly that their intention is to incentivize group play over solo play and the "risk versus reward " balance has been at the core of this game since day one. Short answer is if you don't like the size of the rocks in high sec then move to lower sec space. |

I used to play in groups all the time. That's why they call this a massive multiplayer game. If I wanted to go solo I would play Astrox.
We used to mine in low sec with others standing guard in their fighter ships. They were mostly a deterrent. Single pirates would see them and flee. |

Mate you just have a move a little bit now if the area you're mining in has been mined out, like a few jumps. If you want bigger rocks go to less traveled areas.
You can't really insult anyone elses intelligence when you made TWO pointless whine threads about a game whith which your limited experience with is obviously many years out of date. People have made decent suggestions and all you can do is cry more about how there isn't enough rocks left. There's loads, look for them.

What system security are you under? I'm in high security and float between a .6 and I never have a problem getting full and mostly untouched roof fields.
Your probably in a busy system wherry one and their mother and crazy uncle is mining.
I see large 10,ooo m3 condensed all the time.

Just as an FYI, my main system that my miner works in is three jumps from Amarr, a .8 security rating. This system has three roid belts and I have never seen them mined out. In fact, I rarely see anyone else mining. To give a base for how big the rocks are, the biggest veldspar rocks will have 80k units in them.
Something that is new is the NPC miners. I see those at least five times a week. These NPCs do something that is very irritating and may be one thing your seeing. Humans tend to mine a rock out then move to the next one. What the npc miners do is mine a rock very low, never finish it, and move to the next rock. The effect is instead of sitting on a rock for multiple cycles, they tend to leave what for me is a bunch of rocks that have enough ore for 1.5 cycles. They are incredibly consistent in leaving this amount in a rock. You would have to ask someone else why they do this. |

My .6 system gets concentrated and dense velldspar at usually more than 110k units(11k m3) in 3 good large roids per belt. I can usually get a decent amount of super dense Ombar, Velspar, Plagioclase, hardly any super dense Sordite.

As was stated before, come to null. I see belts all the time with nobody mining, with huge asteroids. Make sure you can handle the rats though, fit a strong tank and have strong drone skills. Try not to mine solo down here if you can't handle the rats though. Whatever corp you join should have alliance comms assets in place to find mining fleets in your region of sov. Don't be afraid to travel some to reach a mining fleet. |

OP - sent your name to our corp recruiter, he will be getting in touch with you. We have mining fleets going across alliance space most of the time, and you can usually find one or two people who just want to team up, especially if there are boosts. |

Try finding a less populated system. Anywhere near a trade hub or starter system is going to be well and truly mined, if not mined out entirely. Mining is fine, you just have to go further out to get away from the well mined spots. Low and Null sec has big rocks :D
