Im sure its been said before but being the noob i am i dont know how to check but... who here would like to play eve... just for the fun of it? without the treat of getting ganked by a bunch of 40 year olds with nothing better to do with their lives? yes i know its what makes eve eve and eve is fun.... but it is slightly annoying and frustrating at times to. i mean think about it.... to play eve offline, solo, only you in the universe (and NPCs of course) just for fun. nothing is tied to the online version in terms of characters or ships or ISK. they could sell it for say, between $20 to $50 (AU). They get even richer (which they so like) and we, get to just mess about without fear of getting ganked! Yes i know it would not be for everyone... but its still a nifty idea dont you think? P.S any 'oh but it wouldn't be eve' comments are just going to get ignored by me because as iv said YES! i know it wouldn't be eve eve! but that is not the point of this discussion! |

You know what else they could do?
I beleive I was that in anoteh rgame that had Open PvP. it was Free to Play and they had Open PvP, and trading, so they came upo with an item thatthey sold through the store.
Adn it made one invulnrable to any attack for 24 hours. And people used that for the long Trading runs. Everyone was buyingthem. It kinda affected the Player Killer community in that game "Pirates" but enhanced the PvP in the game, the majority of people were happy and the company was making good money form these items too.
As when peopel brought back the goods and made their money they would hop in to their combnat ships and go out and have fun fighting and sinking one another. They had money enough to be able to afford losses in game.
Would you pay for something like that in EVE? Instead of an Offline version I mean. Do you think it is something that could work here?
I mean, immagine it, can you immagine all the High Sec Miners running to Nulsec to mine thos juicy asteroids there?
All the traders and Freghters going back and forth from Nulsec to HighSec, from trading Hubs to the heart of nowhere filling up the stations with goodies?
Whoooweeee! heheh Gold rush!
I am skeptical, but I am curious to know what you think, or others.
I would prefer instead of expanding Highsec to give people same oportunity to establish stronger base from hwere to launch themselves in to PvP fun ina way that is affordable to them. Nullsec could see more action like that, no need of Low sec anymore to act a buffer.
First golden rule is, "Fly what you are willing to lose", well when people have more they are also more willing to risk more, take more risks and are in the lookout for more rewards, and loss is less shocking.
The reverse happens when you constrain people. They want to keep safe the hard earned little that they have, and losing it is a bigger shock.
Look at you, you are seekig to play by yourself offline..it has come to that point... |

EVE-Offline without other players would be boring and useless.
Missions are boring, Mining is boring and useless Indy is boring, and useless Trade is boring and useless Sov is boring and useless Lowsec is boring and useless Highsec would be boring and useless.

Just go hop onto the test server. Sisi will provide you all the online but offline content you can ever need or want.
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?
That's right.

The thought of EvE Offline is comparable to solo sex for me. You don't have to deal with all those pesky asking her out, dating, letting your personalities shine, petting, post-coital chat, making her a coffee in the morning and whatnot.
So cool and comfy is it? Who would realistically want the real deal instead? I don't know why people bother.. in either case.
They say Alpha clones are only for trying stuff. I say it's just the Hard Mode.

What did i say about "eve wthout players is boaring" guys.... i also said yes >IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE< and as for this X thing..... i want to play EVE offline, not some rip off game no matter how close it matches eve it is still not eve. AND i actually like mining, it is my faveroite thing to do in eve and only worrying about pirates is a nice relaxing way for me to spend the end of the day.... as opposed to constantly under threat of getting blown up the moment someone exits a jump gate let alone enters the belt... i told you guys its not for everyone.... so please dont clog up the discussion saying its not your idea of fun... if its not your idea of fun YOU KEEP PLAYING NORMAL EVE! we dont need you telling us what a bad idea it is.... eeewww PVP! yuck! who wants to do that! see... pointless isnt it? |

most eve pilots are super nice, they just use shiny laser beams instead of hugs most of the time. If you just use a little bit of caution and don't make yourself an easy target the game is relatively risk free. All these years I'm surprised no one has come and ganked me just for the lulz of it.

If you come here insulting the community, expect to be called out for it.
If you can't hack the game because you don't have the emotional stability, or the mental capacity, or simply because you are antisocial, expect to be called out for it.
You could have easily put your OP with the same message minus the insults of everyone; and not received it back at you. That was your choice. Suck it up butter cup. HTFU and all that. But of course, as a Carebear, HTFU is like a disease.

The only way you are going to do that is pull the models from the game client (which can be done) and make your own offline game.
Can it be done? Sure. You won't be able to sell it or anything. There is math behind everything in the game, all you need are the formulas and you can code it.
Is it worth it?
Hell no. Go code a killer robot or something that makes a difference in the world.

Well i recently read up a bit and joined and it is what ever you had at the last system mirror (so if your flying a ship of one type when it mirrors then change to another you will be in the first ship on that server until the next mirror unless you get yourself another on the test server) and im only an alpha and i got in fine. now im trying to get out though because CCP being the pricks they are want to 'share my data with third partys' yeah, no thanks. i have no need for undy adverts... Oh and love your little quotey thing xD dont suppose you have a spare billion ISK laying about so i can turn on easy mode do you? xD >NOTE< >THAT WAS A JOKE< >NOT< Begging... suppose i should keep jokes like that to a minimum though huh? |

Quote:https://community.eveonline.com/support/test-servers/test-servers-overview/ Public test server: Singularity The public test server, Singularity (or Sisi), is open to all players. Its purpose is to try out new features - normally the next major patch for Tranquility will be tested on this server. Character information is replicated (=mirrored) to the Singularity server every few months, but keep in mind that if your account got created after the last replication, you will not be able to access the server. Gameplay mechanics and playing environments may be quite different from what you're used to on Tranquility. Here, the world is constantly changing.
Quote:https://community.eveonline.com/support/test-servers/singularity/ Singularity (Sisi) is a public test server for EVE Online that is used by both CCP developers and EVE players to test changes and new features before they are released to the Tranquility server. Test servers have a very strict set of rules. Its primary function is to provide a test environment as close as possible to the live environment of Tranquility. For this purpose, the Tranquility database is "mirrored" (copied) over to the Singularity server once every few months (or more often, if needed by the CCP Quality Assurance department). For testing the performance of the server and client with many players at the same place (especially fleet-fights) there are periodical mass testing events.
The Test server doesn't sound too bad, definitely sounds great for making vids and writing up guides.

Its a nice idea to have game in an EVE universe that you could play even alone, at night, somewhere in the woods, without using computer.
CCP made a game that can be played that way (only with few other players) before they have made EVE. Maybe they could reskin it and sell as something in the theme of EVE world now. As for single player game of that type, I suppose some electronic version would have to be made, for smartphones.

I'm curious what exactly you believe this eve offline world would be like? what would you do in it? would you spend all day running lvl 4 missions? well your gonna need a ship for that right, so just buy one off the marke... oh wait, theres nothing for sale on the market, because there is no other players manufacturing them. Well I guess your going to need to build it yourself. so buy that blueprint, jump in your rookie ship and get mining (or I guess a venture since the NPE gives you one of those) and lets hope it doesn't get blown up by belt rats while your out there. want drones for that venture to defend yourself, well your gonna need to mine the minerals for that one first as well.
Don't have the isk to buy the blueprints (they can get really pricey) well just sell some of that ore on the market... whats this, theres no other players to buy your minerals? well I guess your just going to grind some lvl 1 missions mindlessley until you can get the isk for destroyer blueprints... and then you will need to build those.
repeat add nauseum, until FINALLY you have your battleship, and all the fittings you need for it, victory is yours, time to grind those lvl 4 missions for some dank isk... too bad you got nothing left to spend it on, well, time to start grinding for that solo titan then. that you will never actually have a use for. mining titan maybe? |

i understand what you are saying , in eve the game was made with pvp in mind, the bulk of the gameplay is actually pve , what i would suggest is train a battleship , undock from jita and let rip the smart bombs , well thats my plan when i can fly them .
after you have done this come back and say that wasnt fun , if you get in a corp with many members who do a bit of everything , and have some wars , you will be amazed on how much fun you are missing .
suggest you join a corp who does many things .
wish you well
