What if EVE would have no clones, would you still play EVE?
If you are podded your character is destroyed and you have to start all over again.
It would be a real hardcore.

that is the way it used to be in the beginning basically with just a basic clone and no implants u get podded u could see a months training + just get wasted. I had a corp mate quit over that as he got popped and lost all his skills he had at level 4 at the time back in 2003

Safer bet. Would I play in a ffa server? No CONCORD, basically no security everywhere...
Maybe, with an alt.
This is my sig, there are many others just like it. With me, my sig is worthless. Without (or with even) my sig, I am worthless... |

OMG!! He's in a Cruiser!!!! Stan, get in the car!! We have to evacuate!!
I think it actually sounds kind of interesting. Anyone who got old enough to actually have BS, Hac, Carrier, Dread, etc level skills would probably be exponentially more paranoid at each step making those skills inherently useless due to epic level risk aversion.
... Where do I sign up!?
Of course, it would only be Eve Lite. Something to play on the side as a once in awhile break from the real deal.

I'll put ISK on the line betting that you'll see the vast majority of players on a hardcore server playing Gallente instead of Caldari.

They'd need to reduce training times a fair whack, otherwise it sounds interesting. It'd stop people think that they've 'earned' their SP anyway and that it's something valuable, like they do know, and that gets my vote.

Provided pod killing is also made a little more difficult at the same time, yes. Very definitely!
To be honest, the whole clone thing always felt kind of lame to me. "You're dead, but oh no not really. You just got a safe and fast trip back to your home station, that's all. Rejoice!"

If it was "real hc", meaning no clones, npc s pod if standings < -5, limited number of intelligent npc ships in system, meaning you could kick npc corps out of empire, like concord, etc... Why not. ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |

All it would mean is that pvpers would leave .o and pirate in empire where its almost impossible to lose a pod.

No. I would not see the point. for me 100% of the game is character developing. Not just skills, but also in everything I do.
