Hey guys,
Currently C-R-A corporation holds ownership to 30% of the corporation. Now, we just keep growing, and the more labs I get up, the more people join the alliance.
Recently Ionia assisted me in selling off 20% of the corporate shares. These funds were used to purchase and equip 2 large towers all set for research. Since this time we are already running at max capacity once more.
A 1.1 billion isk dividend (as was last month) only gives 330 million isk to the corporation for growth with this amount of shares. The cost to get a new tower online is approximately 1.6 billion isk.
So whilst the growth funds are handy in getting new single labs online and filling out existing towers, they just aren't enough when it comes time to place a new tower.
This will be the 5th large empire tower we place, and the final growth shares sale in C-R-A. After this last sale, any further expansions will be funded with private in-game loans so this basically adds to corporate value whilst only taking a small hit on corporate dividends. The end figures in this are yet to be decided, but I have spoken to a few people in-game who are happy to fund these loans without securities other than my word.
Anyway, so. More towers, means more cash. If we have a tower that isn't performing at least at 50% capacity, then it isn't worth having. Now, I have calculated the trend over the last 5 days or so (constantly I do, but specifically this period), and we have never had more than 4% of the labs un-used at any one time.
So, we don't have queues above a few hours at this point. I could easily stop expanding and continue taking on new alliance researchers, but this will only lead us to have existing people leave due to the same queues they get from NPC labs.
Having 4-5 free labs at any one time really isn't much. It only takes 1 researcher coming online, to take those up on the spot, and it happens constantly.
Anyway, enough trying to justify why I think this is a good idea.
I will be placing a sale on the WTS forums in the exact same style as the fantastic one Ionia placed last month, a dutch auction. The sale will be for the remaining 300,000 C-R-A shares.
Based on the last dutch sale placed by Ionia, we should expect the price to end up around the 14,000-15,000 isk mark, meaning approximately 4.3 billion isk will be raised.
This means we have no real affect on share price, existing shareholders shares are not diluted as there have never been any extra shares created since conception. Whilst shareholders won't get the warm/fuzzy feeling that 300m a month goes into a couple of mobile labs, they will know as expansion requires, I will be using loans to continue to fund corporate expansion.
I have done a lot of studying in the loans department and believe I can do far better building corporate value in this fashion, rather than having to work with the very small 300m monthly influxes.
Assuming the total comes to 4.3 billion or thereabouts, this will fund two large fully equipped towers, and a third partially. Whilst they will only be onlined as demand requires it, the funds will be used in various endeavours that I have already been using to increase dividends within C-R-A over the past 7 months.
I will link this to the sell thread once I have placed it. Please discuss here, and leave the dutch auctions thread for bids.

Shouldn't you be selling the new share at least at the same price the last final set of shares went for?

Well doing it this way makes it fair. It means these shares will sell at the value that the public feels they are worth. Seeing as we just had the highest dividend in C-R-A history, over double the previous highest, I would be quite surprised if the end price is below the last share offering.
I think no matter what way you do it, someone has the chance of being burnt. I think this is just the best way to let the public determine the share value.

Do you have a single reason why that would be the way to go?

I do or i wouldn't have posted. I'm own shares and I think its not unreasonable for me to be worried that a new offering a possibly a lower price will devalue the shares I already own.
Do you have a single reason why i shouldn't be worried about losing isk?

Thanks for the quick reply, that answers my question. Looks like its time to head over to the auction if there are shares left.

While sitting waiting for the time to pass before going to watch Spiderman 3, I thought I would do a current snapshot of how this is progressing;
Lo Han - 4,000 shares (@ 14,000 ISK ea.) BhurakStarkiller - 20,000 shares (@ 13,500 ISK ea.) Panhter - 1,000 shares (@ 13,500 ISK ea.) Erfnam - 10,000 shares (@ 13,000 ISK ea.) StormkrashX - 15,000 shares (@ 12,500 ISK ea.) MuttonChops III - 200,000 shares (@ 12,500 ISK ea.) Barbicane - 40,000 shares (@ 12,500 ISK ea.) Roemy Schneider - 10,000 shares (@ 10,100 ISK ea.)
Total = 300,000 shares @ 10,100 ISK ea.

This is unofficial!
By my calculation, Roemy Schneider got it right.
My calculation of the winning bidders and their share allocations (listed in chronological order);
Lo Han : 4,000 shares (@ 15,000 ISK ea.) Storiim Tsovoran : 500 shares (@ 14,255 ISK ea.) Pandi : 20,000 shares (@ 15,000 ISK ea.) Alweo : 10,000 shares (@ 14,500 ISK ea.) Dougalar : 10,000 shares (@ 15,000 ISK ea.) Synjin Sinner : 20,000 shares (@ 14,501 ISK ea.) Rod Steel : 10,000 shares (@ 15,000 ISK ea.) Panhter : 2,000 shares (@ 15,000 ISK ea.) MuttonChops III : 100,000 shares (@ 15,000 ISK ea.) Roemy Schneider : 123,500 shares (@ 14,100 ISK ea.)
Total = 300,000 shares @ 14,100 ISK ea.
So everyone pays 14,100 ISK for each share.
C-R-A receives 4,230,000,000 ISK
