They're so far away from the gate that you can't really see them very well.
So... either place them closer to the gate (maybe not the best idea), or make them significantly bigger so we can actually read them, even if we appear 15km off the opposite side of the gate from the billboard.
Yes, that means big. BIG!

Removing billboards makes them big enough.
When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

Frankly I'm shocked that anyone would actually want to look at those cancer-inducing eyesores. |

You only get eye cancer if you look at them too long.
Otherwise, the ones at stargates should be readable from the distance they're placed at.

Still no!
It is terrible enough that we are forced to watch the commercials some alliances made. Come to think of it, some alliances need to rethink the employee - employer relationship. Unless we rename "alliance" to mob and corporation to minmatar which would be more accurate.
I would rather have billboards only show The Scope News all day long on repeat.

I rather enjoy the new billboard content. Particularly the many cool alliance advertisements.
But perhaps they can include an option for you to only see Scope news.

The easiest way to achieve this is to use the "look at" function. Bigger billboards no, absolutely no. It's already excruciating having to see see outdated, obsolete or outright annoying content on these when ever you undock, sit in station, fly to gates or soon in lots of other places. Without proper content management on a per client basis, bigger boards are not exactly pleasant to have.

Hey Eve is Real.
Tell me one place in the real world where you can go outside (or inside your own home) without being smacked in the face with an advertisement?

Every website I visit. And in elsewhere I can switch channel on TV, turn down the volume of the radio or have to concentrate on the road or my phone/book/computer if I am in the car/train/plane. Whereas in EVE, cameras love to point you to billboards all the time when you undock and forgot to zoom out far enough, they are placed so that you have to look at them whatever you do, and they are full of outdated content (Infamous ad, CSM ads, to name a few) in contrast to RL ads.
