Guess that proves that the EvE gate led humanity to a different universe.
That explains some strange phenomena - like celestials being nailed to a spot on their orbits.
They say Alpha clones are only for trying stuff. I say it's just the Hard Mode.

Just blame the Jovians and the Sleepers. Instead of blowing up the star they transported it back in time and it was the reason for the Jovian Wet Grave Plague.

I know, the ingame map shows an (potential)orbit.

That is only what you see in your display. Of course celestial bodies move and orbit and rotate on themselves, and whatever else.
It also helps the combat interface from blocking during large scale combat. It also lets you warp through celestial and so on.
The computer systems would compensate for it, however, you may want to revise the combat efficiency resources.
So, until the hardware is better, or the system requirements increases again (I ran programs faster on a 486 and 386, if not XT), that's how it runs on your computer right now.

No, they don't orbit the sun. Or maybe they move so slowly that even after 14 years nobody can see them in a different position.

Nope planetary bodies and moons in Eve are static, they don't have an orbital path. If they did orbit their star it would play havoc with bookmarks; in the case of moons, if they orbited their planetary body, imagine what would happen to anything anchored at the moon, like a POS.
In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Like every npc station, they would orbit their moon, like the moons would orbit their planet, like the planets would orbit their sun. I don't know, what asteriod belts would do.
More interesting are the next questions.
What would happen to the citadels, that can be placed everywhere in the systems? Or the stargates that are anchored at specific points in space to establish a steady connection to other systems?
Solution: -Stargates could be placed outside of the rotation space of planets and their moons.
-Citadels could be placed anywhere in the system, but only if they do not interfere with planets on their rotation. There they could have static positons. -Or they could be placed in orbits of moons and planets, where they rotate their celestials and so change their position in space constantly.

I bet you already have a bottle of something special just waiting to break over the side of the hull when it's done and done, right?

The periods are suppose to be commas. Eve has these weird moments where the two are used incorrectly like that.
Good catch, though.

I think it's the metric system. It's how we write numbers here in germany too.
Like lightspeed in space for example is written 299792,458 km/s or 299.792,458 km/s.
We only use the dots (or periods) to read numbers easier,
like 1 lightyear is 9.460.730.472.580,8 km.
That's easier to read then 9460730472580,8 km.
In the states it's like 9,460,730,472,580.8 km or 5,255,961,373,656 miles, right?
Maybe it's the difference between the metric and the imperial system.
Btw. Metric ftw. In EVE too.

It is great knowing we have been here before (well out atoms have) and already been a part of a long gone solar system.
I just hope that when the next " New Eden" comes to be, my atoms won't be part of a miner blapping gimp or an exotic dancer!
Knowing my luck, my atoms will be spread throughout a first edition CODE permit
Or CCP Claymore's gusset...

The star in Arnatele is listed as 91 billion years old. At one time I thought this as an Easter egg put in the game by CCP. I thought what their intention was that the Eve gate did not traverse just space, but time. The result was we were far, far in the future, like 100 billion years later than the Terran end of the eve gate wormhole. I even wrote this into a research paper abstract for the AJ project. I advanced the idea that the ancient races of Eve actually were not descendants of those who came through the eve gate. The were Terrans, who got to the eve cluster the slow way, star by star, over billions of years.
It was rejected by CCP, so I guess my 'Easter egg" theory is wrong. The modified abstract is available at site one in Eram. |
