Doing missions for the most part is cool, but, why is it that they are so vague as to what to actually do? To me some of them are like this: "Go into the house and get that thing." What thing? where's it at? Being stuck on military mission 8, where you have to pick up the VIP's, but find the INN breached, bodies floating around... I checked, scanned and even went back to the agent, (several times), since something was 'amiss', and the mission description states that if there is, report back. Nope. No dice. What am I missing? Why state to return if that's not the actual step to complete the mission? I gave up on the exploration missions, just for those reasons. My question is, why so vague? Also, should I just give up on the missions and figure things out that way? If so, what's the best way to go about it? |

Read local chat. If I remember right, the mission should be displayed as completed in local chat when you get there and find everything is over already.
It's a good thing to watch local, you can get used to it this way .
Or open the journal and check there, whether the mission is completed.
Remove standings and insurance.

In that mission there is a smartbomb in the hotel that will damage your ship. At that point the mission is complete and you should return to the agent.
There will always be a mission indicator on the left side of your screen next to the Neocom. You use this to warp to the mission location. If you see a green checkmark there - the mission objective has been achieved.

Also most missions are well documented, the eveuni wiki link above seems to have good info on that chain, and http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports has almost all the missions.

Hey, thanks for the help, all! And to Do Little, I did get popped by the bomb, and did go back, but it still won't let me complete, LOL! I'll just keep poking around at it. It shouldn't be an issue after all the help I received here! Thanks again! |

As an absolute last resort after you have done everything you could figure out to try and hopefully after you have identified the thing that you can no longer get past, f12 > submit a polite, non-demanding support ticket. Devs will probably reset that mission to where you can try it again. 99% of the time the problem turns out to be operator error and not something they did, so be nice and be patient.
