Hey guys, I recently got back into the game, and after a while grinding with my VNI, I think I am finally wanting to graduate and run hubs with a Rattlesnake. Here is a fit i stumbled upon:
[Rattlesnake, Rattlesnake] Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II
Gist X-Type Large Shield Booster Phased Scoped Target Painter Phased Scoped Target Painter Pith X-Type EM Ward Field Pith X-Type EM Ward Field Pith X-Type Thermal Dissipation Field Large Micro Jump Drive
'Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I 'Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I 'Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I 'Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I 'Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I Corpus X-Type Heavy Energy Nosferatu
Large Warhead Flare Catalyst I Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst II Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst II
Vespa EC-600 x5 Imperial Navy Curator x2 Imperial Navy Praetor x2
Caldari Navy Inferno Cruise Missile x115
I was wondering what you guys thought about this fit, the only thing I'm thinking that it lacks is proper enough DPS tank. I do not currently have the skills for tech 2 heavys/sentries, and am semi-close to tech 2 cruise. Thanks for the help!

tactic: - warp in - mjd - deploy sentries - kill anything from 100km away (that's why target painter and not webs)
the 3 slot dedicated to resistances are specific for the type of rat, absorbing all the damage and making the EHP at your disposition more than enough to sustain the dps, and rep up.
pros: lot's of dps cons: if anything point you(other pilots).... bye bye rattle. |

With maxed out skills you have cap for less then 5 minutes. If you get close or they get close on, they will neut you very fast. So that Nos is useless. Even with that nos you don't have cap for more then 7 minutes.
From my point of view, fit sensor booster, 2 drone link mods, sit at 100-120 km and snipe them. It will take ages because of lack of DPS...but...you will be alive and not in a pod. |

That Rattlesnake is like a big Swiss army knife, you can switch between a monstruos tank to huge dps and adapt to many different scenarios and missions, while running them...!!!
Get a Mobile Depot a bunch of modules in your cargo and start practice refitting in space.
The best part is that you don't even have to bling it you can keep all very cheap with T2 stuff. |

There are many different ways to fit a Snake. Many depend on the person's style of play.
So, with that said, here are some things that you could change:
-drop the X-type Em and Therm fields, just use T2 -drop the Nos -use faction BCUs (more dps, and will free up some space if the fit is tight) -drop the Vespa, ( carry some sentries, and some T2 lights) -fit a XL deep space shield booster, pulse it when needed -drop the MJD and go with a Heavy cap booster with 800 charges
Try different things and see what suits you.

Only problem... he has nothing but missile rigs in and no DLA in the highs, so his max drone control range must be around 57-60km tops... he's packing curators, so he should definitely bump that up a bit.

What this man said. If not 2 DLAs, then at least ONE DLA in that utility highslot. Will get you past 80km at least, better than ~60 (either way, don't MJD directly away from drones, do it at an angle to try and get them in the 80-90km range rather than 110-120+). |
