Hello friends,
As a new capsuleer, I was positively elated when i found the "Cooking with Veldspar" holoreel in game. At last, I will be able to taste various dishes from all around the Cluster.
But, unfortunately, all my hopes where shattered to pieces, as I found myself unable to open this document, seemingly due to an aggressive DRM policy that left all available copies as garbled pieces of data.
So, I took it upon myself to embark in a long and dangerous journey to bring back the clorious power of cooking to my fellow capsuleers, travelling to the far reaches of space, in a quest to meet the best cooks of the world of EVE, to start anew this most important cookbook.
The first results of this hard and strenuous work can be viewed here, where you can find all the culinary knowledge that I've been able to compile, with more to come as I continue my gastronomic odyssey.
Be safe on your travel, and may the blessings of cooking bring peace to the world! |

This L'Amore looks like a fine place, too bad I don't know where it is.
If one day you're looking for an interstellar-class chef, I can make myself available, if the pay is right! |

He should best pray Captain Diana Kim doesn't read the so-called "Achuran" recipe.
Cooking is the best way to have a feeling for another one's culture; recipes where taken litterally from original material, perhaps that you're used to look away at some of the worst aspects of your culture?

The Brutor drinks that many cans of beer?
How do I translate that to vodka and whiskey?

We Brutor are more at home dirtying our hands in the engine room (or the kitchen) than exchanging courtesies and eiled allusions in the dining room.
And I find it hard to forget all those years of oppression by Amarrians slavers; and all the death of friends and family during the war.
Especially my nephew/brother-in-law (we are a really close clan, don't ask), who died heroically on the assault of an Amarrian citadel.
But perhaps that you can make me change my mind around a meal and a drink or two.... |

Ya all don't look like the exotic dancers I used to spend time with in Nakugard. More like classy ladies who won't be impressed if I throw one or two customers out of the window in a fistfight, all the while recounting a colourful war story or two, am I 'right? |

If anything, I'm intrigued. But, I don't do the chasing.
You can find me at my establishment, most days.

So-- pilot? A couple notes ...
Amarrian households don't necessarily include slaves, and actually usually don't. (I'm a retainer in such a household.) They also haven't had that kind of patriarchy for ... kind of a while. The last two emperors have been empresses, and the controversies surrounding neither have been related to gender. (There is the occasional lingering whiff of patriarchy, though.)
Achur cuisine varies some depending on where on Achura you are (I think Ms. Ikiryo's idea of what smells or tastes like home is a little different from mine), but the only place where militarism's much of a thing is in the (Caldari-controlled) cities. (We're a client people; we're more demilitarized than militaristic.) I could maybe see these spring rolls as something that really might be served at an officer's mess there.
Really, though, I'd describe these as "fusion food"; you're probably more likely to find them on Jita 4-4 than anywhere on Achura. |

As I said in my introduction, the english language used by all spacers is sadly not my mothertongue, so I try to write the best way that I can.
I hope that you find it, at last, understandable, and, moreover, enjoyable.

As a new spacer, and not really the most educated one on the field of sociology, there might be some mistakes here and there that I'll be glad to correct, given time.
HRP I tried to achieve a "fusion food" feeling for my recipes, so I take that as a compliment . |

Really, most Amarr can't even own slaves, only the Holders can. As for the Brutor Bowl...
6 beers actually seems pretty reasonable, considering the way it renders down as the alcohol boils off. You'll be left with a kind of wheat broth, with the alcohol boiling off and the carbonation both helping to keep things from settling too much. You might want to look into Tsuivan, as well. I'm pretty sure it's originally Vheriokhor in origin, but plenty of Clans among the other Tribes have picked it up as well, including my own.
We Stornauga also tend to make a pretty mean Protein Pizza. Uses lots of meat when we can get it, and lots of flavored suppliment paste when we can't. Sebiestor jury-rigging, I suppose.
To everyone else... he's new. He's been told a lot of things about the other empires. And he's Brutor. He's not going to be genteel and effervescent. Give him time, and forgive any early missteps. He'll learn the truth of different parts of the cluster, and then he'll have informed opinions everyone can get offended over, just like the rest of us. |

The beers are for the cook, else you'll get some kind of soup...

English? Never heard of that language, but it probably exists since the Universal Translator picked that up no problem.
I'm speaking Minmatar Standard, by the way. I am sure the others are also using their own mother tongues that I may or may not understand if spoken straight to me. However, the Universal Translator implants included in our capsuleer augmentation package help sort out the babble soup whenever we speak to each other.
Most of the time at any rate. Some words and phrases don't really translate well.

I figured that was actually a software error in the UT, myself. I know there's an 'Ingles' (IN-glez) Clan with some members over in Eystur, it might've mangled a reference to a patois he's heard among the traders over there? Either way, it's not worth worrying aboutGÇöhe'll adjust.

Idle gossip's about the primary use of the IGS. If you have any questions, anything you need advice on, please, feel free to ask. One thing you can be safely guaranteed around here: if you bring up a topic people know something about, they'll tell you.
At length. Be ready for that.
