A word of warning for any capsuleers reading this, do NOT try to redeem a PLEX from your redeem item list, to a citadel. You may well find that the citadel no longer exists, and that the plex that disappered out of your item redeem list has in fact gone... *poof*.
Yes I have re-checked my redeem item list, and my assets, and no PLEX anywhere to be found. It has simply vanished from existence.
Now of course, I realise this is a game and bugs happen, but what I don't accept is when bugs are reported and then not addressed. I also find it revealing that a bug as easy to reproduce / find as this one was not picked up during testing. I would have posted this in the citadel issues thread, but of course it is locked. I hope this post saves anyone else from making the same mistake as me, and puts the ball in CCPs court for how they will deal with Citadels eating PLEX.

How do you dock in a Citadel that doesn't exist in the first place?

You redeem items to where they were when you put them into the redeem list, not where you currently are. The citadel did, of course, exist when I used the market there and moved the item into the redeem list.

You need to file a bug report and a support ticket. The support ticket to locate the PLEX and the Bug report so CCP can figure out what happened. Be sure to include as much information as possible including the original Citadels name and location.
Edit: Have you checked the "Assets" folder and in there the "Safety" tab?

Maybe it floats in the space where citadel was located.
But seriously, only CCP can help us/you.

Yeah I've sent a support ticket and a bug report, but given how valuable plex can be I thought I'd let people know of this issue.

You may want to be a bit more clear in future. The issue isn't that you redeemed the PLEX to a Citadel, it's that you redeemed it to a Citadel, put it back into the redeeming area, and then tried to redeem it again after that Citadel went poof... |

I've only bought one on contract from another region. I'm assuming youre talking about buying it with money then redeemed it, unredeemed it, then redeemed it again?
Is it possible the Plex is locked to its first redeem location by design to prevent people from using it as a Plex vault (which coincidentally they are adding now despite everyone's objections) Try asset safety? |

The announced upcoming changes to the PLEX system should render this issue moot. In the meantime, if you've lost a PLEX in this way, please open a support ticket and our GMs will help resolve the matter.

Edit: I'm not working on these features, of course, so I doubt I can answer any more detailed questions.. :) Is there going to be changes made to scrap the vault idea after the overwhelmingly negative response to it?
Also you should let people sub for a week. It's gonna cost 2b to Plex now when this inflates and blows up. |

The majority of the negative response was to the Aurum fiasco. The response to the PLEX vault has mostly been "I don't have to look at that all the time, right?" or "Ugh, more advertising " and even most of that has been fairly muted.
At best this is the average level of negative sentiment you get with any new change, not an "overwhelmingly negative response".
As for the "blows up" claim, I would *love* to see the economic data you have to back up that assertion, assuming it wasn't last housed in a rectal cavity... |

I thought I was clear enough but it gets confusing when you have to use the word redeem so much, apparently the term for moving an item into the redeem list is reverse-redeeming. For extra clarity I purchased a plex in a citadel from a seller on the market, reverse -redeemed it into my redeem list. I didn't log in for several days, during which time the citadel went poof, I wasn't docked there anymore. When I did log back in, I redeemed the plex assuming I could get it in the citadel, to find it was gone.
I've submitted a ticket to have it resolved, and even better Darwin's post makes clear this won't be a problem in future once the changes to plex roll through.
