Cool!
I'm doing that in my Domi, which I believe is a cheaper ship and requires less skills.

I use a nighthawk and dont really have issues with cap and never have to warp out for GE. Its a pretty easy mission including the bonus level. Why are you using a invuln??????? EVen the 37% one still sux compared to using passive or active shield hardeners specific to the mission. Try using 2x kinetic, 1x therm, t2 large shield booster, t2 shield amplifier and 2x cap recharge rigs. If you have skills to fly nighthawk you should know this. I am sure there are variations on my setup but an invuln for GE? err no.

Why a nighthawk? Just do it in a raven, easier and cheaper :-)

I wasn't implying that mate, I had read your other topic prior to this one.
Pardon my short and somewhat rude reply, I just think you're sort of stating the obvious here

You had to bail with a nighthawk? You're obviously doing something wrong. You should be able to sleep through every level of that mission. ----------------------------- EVE Addict, creator of the EVE Online Forms Greasemonkey Script \o/ |

No offense, I love the Nighthawk as much as any other pilot, but that's not "proof" of anything.
A Drake with passive tank still could tank that mission easily, and it will manage to complete the mission too (take a bit longer, but when you can permatank the whole spawn, it's not an issue).
Now, come back showing how you tank the *full* spawn in Enemies Abound 5/5 in a Nighthawk, and THEN I'll be impressed. P.S. Yes, it's possible, both with an active tank (expensive fit) and a passive tank (might need to be in a fleet for siege warfare bonuses). _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

Edited by: Buxaroo on 09/05/2007 10:59:51 Well not to **** on your parade or anything but I can do just about every lvl 4 mission in a passive tanked drake and never have to worry about cap. But the nighthawk is a sweet ship, hopefully in a month I can fly one as well.
Which segues into a question about the nighthawk vs drake: Does the drake have more DPS than the nighthawk for missions? I know that the nighthawk has the kinetic bonus.

I agree that the Nighthawk is an awesome ship. It can tank amazingly and if you invest in nice goodies, it becomes even better damage wise.
The one i use is about 2.5 Bil fitted and its not because i really need it, but because i can afford it and its fun to use. Speeds up the missions as well. Other ships can do the missions as well, but i prefer to use the isk i got in stead of having a lot of numbers in my wallet.
Running out of cap on a Nighthawk is no no... I do use a DG invul tho, but thats becasue i am to lazy to swap hardeners. I just use generic all the time.

technically that means they did out damage you, otherwise you wouldn't have had to keep your shield booster running to the point of running out of cap. just fyi. --- - We lost that fight - Quick, smack'em in local or they'll think they won! |

Er, what is the point of this thread? The OP bragging, in GD of all places, that he wasn't able to tank a mission in probably the toughest PvE ship in the game?
If I took a Nighthawk into a mission and got pwned, I wouldn't rush to tell everyone... ---

Edited by: VaderDSL on 09/05/2007 12:30:13 You want to tank
I have two Vultures setup differently
First one :
Has a smidgen over 27,000 shield hitpoints with a recharge time of 170 seconds iirc. with resists not all that great, as it only has 1 Tech 2 Hardener and a Shield Harmonizing Warfare Link
Second one is my baby
Just over 8000 shield HP's (Siege Warfare Mindlink = 15% extra shields)
4 * Heavy Missile Launcher II's Shield Efficiency Warfare Link Shield Harmonizing Warfare Link
Gist C-Type Large Booster Shield Boost Amp II 2 * Kinetic Active II's 1 * Thermal Active II Large Capacitor Battery II
4 * Power Diagnostic System II's
2 * CCC Rigs
95.9% Kinetic Resistance 91.6% Thermal Resistance
Just over 292 shield boost every 3.2 seconds for a cost of 69 capacitor
With everything running, may cap levels out at 60%
I should include at this point that I do not run missions solo in this, for obvious reasons, those being I do about the same DPS as a frigate.
It's to get aggro so all my corp friends can come on in and kill everything that moves BIG Lottery |

No; the Nighthawk has the kinetic bonus AND a ROF bonus; even with a launcher less than the Drake it does more DPS. --

Hm ... judging by the overview I tanked nearly that much in a passive Drake in a level 4 a while ago and half of my 13M SP is in Industry - shield-tanking Guristas ftw
Edit: A passive Drake with no tech II tank, no faction or officer tank, just named stuff. --
