Hello capsuleers!
(sorry for my english)
I finally decided to start my adventure in EVE Online. Let me introduce myself first... My name is Matt, 24 years old living in central Europe. I was always inspired by cosmos and whole neverending space... So I've choosen EVE.
Would be great to know what I should do first, currently Im going through my tutorial. In the future I want to be an explorer, who sometimes killing pirates on asteroid belts and doing missions for... someone, Im not sure for who I could do missions, some ppl saying that Sisters of EVE is good for begining, but... perhaps u'll advise me better option. In conclude Im interested in PVE at this momment. Later I want to experience some PVP, that would be awesome!
Im sure u can help me, which skills I should buy for begginner explorer, which fits for ships and which ships will be the best for me. Im Mimmatar.
Fly safe, Vid'aron. |

When you go omega your race will not matter. As long as you are alpha there is really only one ship that you should be exploring in, for Minmatar that would be the Probe. Once you go omega you can use the other races as well as the T2 version which open up access to cover ops cloaks also faction ships like the Astero which has exploration bonuses.
There really is no reason to wait to start exploring. Just fit your ship out cheaply and go experiment. Further I recommend that you try more stuff out early and often. Try lots of things and do more of what you like. In this game you don't want to limit yourself to only a couple of things.
As far as skills go you are going to want to train whatever skills are needed to give you access to the things that you want to try. Beyond that there are generic ship skills which mostly help with fitting mean things that give you more powergrid or CPU room. Due to the exponentially increasing training times you want to skill up things at a fairly even level. So what I do is put the skills that I want to train into my skill queue or into Evemon and then adjust them by shortest training time first.
If you are exploring you will want to skill up scanning and hacking skills. If you are doing any kind of combat you'll want to skill up tank and dps skills. As far as tank skills go you mostly want to focus on getting access to T2 tanking modules and after that focus more on dps.
If PvP interests you I would not wait for long to try it out. Get in fleet with some veterans and have them show you the ropes. You are going to have to loose several ships to get decent at PvP and they will be no different a month, a year, or even ten years from now. PvE in this game doesn't really do much to get you ready for PvP so there's not much point in waiting.
If you have more specific questions about anything feel free to ask here or send me and in game mail if you want a two way conversation. I'll make an effort to meet up when we are both in game and do what I can to help. |

Welcome to Eve.
Here is a good place to start: https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Getting_Started_in_EVE_Online
In general, the Eve University wiki is an excellent resource when learning Eve. It is comprehensive, reasonably up to date and they specialize in training new players.
