I wrote an app that gives you faction warfare LP exchange rates based on small ammo prices.
https://garemoko.github.io/eve-fw-data/
It also tells you how each faction is doing overall so you can predict tier upgrades which will increase supply of that faction's LP and reduce ISK / LP. E.g. Minmatar have taken 75% of systems and have 82% of the VP in their warzone, so get ready for prices of their items to drop if that trend continues.
Should be useful to traders buying and selling faction navy ammo, ships and items to predict future prices.
Donations and suggestions welcome. |

Hi DrButterfly,
Why did you chose to use small ammo and not medium or large? Also why only those 4 that I saw listed?
I would suggest using all the small ammo for each faction as some of the exchange rates could be very high for one ammo type but small for another based on supply/demand. You could do this by either taking the average for all the ammo or a weighted average based on the number sold in Jita or something similar.
Otherwise it looks nice, I didn't spend much time looking at it but looks good.
Good luck with it. |

Additionally, this is also covered by the fuzzworks site. Except for every corporation/faction, and every item imaginable. |

Hi Star Killer14,
Thanks for the feedback!
I chose small ammo to start with because it looked like, at least for Minmatar, that was the most profitable. I do plan to add other sizes of ammo and other items at some point if there's interest.
Quote:why only those 4 that I saw listed?
Come back tomorrow and maybe you will see a different 4 :-)
What's actually happening is that it fetches the prices for all of the small ammo and the picks the one with the highest price to display as the exchange rate metric. Similar to your average idea, but I think the highest price is more important than the average since that's the best price people can exchange their LP to ISK at.
Krysenth,

The fuzzworks site is really useful. I'm trying to make something different. Rather than a look up for prices, the dashboard is designed to give you a quick overview of the four factions and how they are progressing in the war so you can use that to help you to predict if prices of items from those factions are likely to go up or down in the near future.
It's also mainly a tool for FW pilots to choose their target locations and activities. |

I'd use this data if it were presented in a more readable manner.
Can I make the following suggestions:
- Present the current warzone status with a pie chart - Tone down the bright colours. Specificially, keep the hue and saturation the same, reduce the brightness. - Add in values for the most popular faction ship (e.g. Vexor Navy Issue for the Gallente militia), and also the best Datacores. These, along with faction ammo, are the items that the market can absorb 5+ billion ISK worth of at once. - For ships, go on the basis of the blueprint version as it is the best deal. So for the Vexor Navy Issue, you'd determine LP value by the price of a VNI hull, minus the material costs if built in a station, minus the build costs at 5% index. (People will build at less than 5% index and will build in ECs, but the saving they achieve is production profit, not part of the value of the blueprint itself). - I would also be interested in datacore prices per LP at all times, even when the datacore in question is not 'worth' spending LP on. This comes from my interests as a trader and inventor - seeing for instance that Plasma Physics datacores are priced low at the same time as Caldari LP are expensive tells me that I should buy right now, not wait.

Thanks for the feedback Sabriz Adoudel! Really helpful.
Quote:- Present the current warzone status with a pie chart Won't do: This would be a bit of work and I don't think as useful as you might think. The important thing is the percentage of each of the two warzones held so this would essentially be two pie charts with two slices each. I don't think you gain much clarity and you the lose ability to easily compare faction LP between warzones e.g. gallente LP vs minmatar LP.
I did make the barchart bars fixed height to make them a little clearer though.
Quote:- Tone down the bright colours. Specificially, keep the hue and saturation the same, reduce the brightness. Done. It's not perfect but it's an improvement. If anybody wants to supply alternative hex colors, please do.

These, along with faction ammo, are the items that the market can absorb 5+ billion ISK worth of at once. On roadmap. Yep, that's on the to-do list. I'll actually probably add all the ships eventually.

You lost me on the build costs and 5% index though. What is this and where can i find/calculate these values?

Perhaps I could add a drill down where you click on a faction and see all items associated with that faction. That's lower down on the priority list though. Pull requests welcome!
For now, I added a link to EVE central on the links bar at the top. Use my site to determine the exchange rate and the use eve central to look up specific prices you're interested in. |

@Sabriz Adoudel
Actually, it's looking like its going to be considerably easier for me to add the ship exchange rather than BPC versions of ship prices so I'm going to do that instead.
I get that building ships form the BPC will be more ISK, but its also a lot more complex so really than increase in ISK is the production profit, rather than the LP exchange rate itself. |

- Added Highest buy vs. Lowest sell
- Added Datacores for all factions
- Added Rockets for Caldari
- Added M and L ammo plus ships for Minmatar
If anybody wants to contribute item id listing etc. for other baskets of goods, please see the format of the code here: https://github.com/garemoko/eve-fw-data/blob/gh-pages/index.html#L674 |

This isn't useful.
The exchange is extremely inefficient and would not ever* be done by an informed player, much like the 1-run CONCORD faction capital modules are not ever worth getting.
The value of LP is influenced by the contract market price of the hull BPCs, which usually aligns very closely with the hull price minus materials price. Production profit is actually very small on these high turnover mass produceable BPCs.

This current approach was very quick to add to the current code; the other approach will take more time.
Pull requests welcome if you want to code in the other approach. Or at least answer my question:
Quote:You lost me on the build costs and 5% index though. What is this and where can i find/calculate these values?
I get that this current approach is going to be an under estimate, but seems like it still has *some* value even if it's not the best approach. For example, right now even with this inefficient method, the item with the highest mark up for Minmatar using buy orders is Republic Fleet Firetail. If I can make even more isk manufacturing the Firetails from minerals, then that tells me Firetails could be a thing worth making.
Really the "what is the best thing to make?" isn't what I'm trying to answer though. Fuzzwork's site does that already. The question is more - what's the approximate value of LP to ISK per faction? To help with choosing which faction's goods to buy/sell. |

This now uses ESI to get a list of all items on sale in the FW store instead of requiring me to enter them all.
It also uses ESI for prices instead of using EVE central's API. It's taking the highest buy order for each item, looking only at The Forge and buy orders of more than 100 items. |
