Just wondering... What is ccp's attitude towards players that are using really old alt characters to sit in stations to spy. Being afk cloaked is one thing, but being able to spy on local in a station you are not supposed to be in, for a period of months is kind of breaking the mechanic... just wondering if you can do something about this. i had heard that ccp does not support this behavior and that you can put in a ticket to have the character moved if he consistently logs in just to spy on local in a station... one that he has no rights to.
Any information is welcome... |

What mechanic do you think is being broken.?
Logging in to the game is always allowed. If the character doesn't have docking rights to a station, then if they ever undock or jump clone out, thats it. Wait until player outposts are removed from the game and the 'problem' will soon be gone.
You could file a support ticket to get an official CCP response.
I think this is the first whine thread about AFK docking I've ever seen.
Also remove local.

Just remember with citadels the easiest way to pod those players is to destroy your own citadel. If you REALLY want them gone this will be the way of the future.
Btw you can jump clone in and out of any station in null you have a clone to as there is no lock out. Not sure if this still works for citadels. So sitting in enemy stations is a very simple thing that can be achieved relatively easily. I have so many clones that will die when these old stations die lol.
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?
That's right.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

Eve has these neat features like avg pilots in space in the last 30 mins and jumps in the last hour. You avg this every 15 mins with how many people are in station and you get a pretty good idea how many are in system. Its not immediate but its good enough. And staging systems for CTAs well they all remain docked before hand anyway. What removing local would do is solve the passerbys but not the locals. It would be a good start though.

Actually we have a few in the Outposts which we control, who would have been screwing up the market etc. as they did in the past, but as we use a Fortizar which has not been there too long they sit there in blissful ignorance and impotence and even if they get in there they cannot trade and If you look at the map it tells you how many are docked and how many are in local, which makes them even more irrelevant.
Ignore them..., or better still put up a Citadel and laugh at them...
When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

To give you an example of what OP is talking about: we have this one guy in our keepstar that got kicked from corp for scamming other corp mates. He just sits there all day long posting scam contracts in local which new players to the game/corp don't know about. When you have no docking rights to a station you should be automatically moved to the nearest npc upon the next time that person relogs or dt. |

When you have no docking rights to a station you should be automatically moved to the nearest npc upon the next time that person relogs or dt. Or your corp could spend a few seconds on telling the new players what the guy is doing. In a welcome to the corp mail.
The problem with what you are proposing is, players return to this game after an absence (illness, military service or other more important real life issues) to find themselves locked out of the station with all their assets. Currently they can stay docked and try to join the new owners or sell their stuff and load one ship with items they want to keep and a GM will usually move them to a nearby lowsec system. This allows them to rejoin the game without to much loss.
What you are suggesting removes those options, returning players will be without access to their stuff and it will be alot harder for them to rejoin the game.
But if you move the player as you suggest and the ship they are in or all their items to avoid the problem returning players have. You make evac'ing from nullsec space to easy. If your alliance is losing a war over sov and decides to relocate to lowsec to regroup, just leave corp and your stuff is safely moved.
Surely it is easier and simpler for your corp to help its new players settle in their new home.

As a new player I doing now FW for some days and I notice afk alts are used much, the system is empty only one person often status neutral sit in the station, but the moment you undock a group of the enemy jumps in the system
i think nothing is to do about it, it is just how the most people in Eve seems want to play. |

A simple solution would be to block the "guests" lists for someone who does not have docking permissions in that structure. Yes they are still docked, but unable to see who is docked, and if they undock... well, there you go.
It's not immersion breaking, as someone who is banned should be technically "frozen" from being able to access structure services. They are merely hanging out in the air-lock.
Automatically moving banned characters out of a station is not a good solution as mentioned above, since it's not always due to someone being specifically blocked/kicked. |

Won't be a problem in December. If a sov alliance REALLY wants to kill off station spys, they can unanchor the faction citadel at the cost of the rigs. |
