Disclaimer: This is simply the dream of a roleplayer, and I am posting the idea here knowing that it will likely be ill-recieved by the playerbase at large and will likely never be implemented.
The idea being presented is to repurpose old Starbase structure models after they are phased out to be made into anchorable on grid with citadels, engineering complexes, and(once released,) refineries As non-functional cosmetic structures in the surrounding grid space to make it feel more populated and lived in than just ship through traffick .
These non-functional anchorable would be destructible, and will produce killmails, but would cost less to construct than old starbase structures post phase out, and would have restrictions on how many can be anchored in the surrounding near grid depending on upwell structure size, along with being unanchorable in-line with the undock points to prevent instabump undock setups.
As a roleplayer, it would be nice to have this, but I am aware that it likely will never be implemented. Now, you may all rage and tear my idea apart. The salt may now flow.
The gods are out there. They watch us. They guide, they manipulate. We rally behind the ones we adore, and rain fire against those who rally behind the ones we hate. The question now is, to whom does your allegiance fall behind, dear Empyreans?

-1 for a bad attitude! Players will like some ideas, dislike other ideas.
The only ones that really get **** on are the ones that have glaringly big holes (or are perceived to have glaringly big holes, either due to a lack of understanding of the OP's intent or a lack of understanding of the game mechanics).
Your idea has no reason to get **** on, because it's not going to cause any problems. A cosmetic change doesn't impact gameplay, which means that you won't end up seeing any salt.
About the only criticism I have for it is that there aren't many roleplayers, and this will only appeal to them. There are plentiful other areas that could be worked on to improve the experience of RPers as well as non-RPers.

I've already removed mobile structures and secure containers from my main overview tab because of the clutter they create when flying in a busy system. I don't see that the benefit of ambiance would outweigh the cost of clutter - especially if they could be renamed and used as advertisements! |

So it makes the grid take just a little longer to load, but adds no gameplay? I don't see the point. |

Also, I wanted to say... your sig... I'm sure it has lore behind it, but I read it as "pods" instead of "gods" and it's still pretty true lol.

In truth, it really doesn't serve a purpose, and would only really benefit or see use by the minority that is the roleplay community most likely. I was aware of that from the start while writing this up, but this forum is for player ideas and suggestions afterall, so I took the nose dive anyway.
And you're eight about your own criticism that there are other areas that would better benefit roleplayers and non-roleplayers Old Pervert.
