CCP thank you. This will help a lot of people enjoy EVE better. I tested it shortly and it seems to improve the game for me. Thank you.

Couple notes:
Please put red/green or blue/yellow after the type of colorblindness, some people don't know which type they are, but they certainly know the colors.
Can you try to not change the current active colors that they can see? The undock button is blue now! :v So take the current spectrum and leave it alone if it is in the normal spectrum.
The module colors are a huge life style change for me, thank you. Changing to blue and yellow, I can see when my module has been selected to cycle off.
Turning on colorblindness mode Deuteranopia makes the number of stacks on a weapon list disappear since it chooses white on Yellow, I think? I was using a light missile launcher just had a yellow bar next to the number of missiles, number not readable.
Rats are yellow! That's certainly a shift.
For the two color, low sec routes are still bluish, which is confusing. I don't know if there is a way to expand more towards the hostile yellows of null sec.
Certainly makes the game a lot more playable for me, thank you! I don't know if I'll change at this point 11 years into my career though, except in extreme cases. I might just remove green, as confusing red and green can be confusing, and there isn't that much green in the overview anyway. Unless all the colors shift as they do right now.
Don't let my critical comments confuse you, thanks for the hard work, I do appreciate it. There are other games like Paths of Exile where it is basically unplayable at a high level because I can't tell the differences between sockets and gems.

This is really good feedback, thanks for trying it out! |

Its good that you are FINALLY doing something about this issue - gods only know its been raised enough times here & by CSM.
I suspect that you'll find most of the colour blind vets (I'm not colour blind) need some "inducement" to contribute to your tests as they've got used to the colours they see now (hello Deran ).
Everyone else who's been colour blind buggered off long ago - taken you all far too long to accommodate nearly 10% of your potential customers - especially the ones who wanted to PvP, you try sorting out an overview which works when its pretty much 99% murky shades of the same "colour"
Don't take it personally CCP The Funk, I'm happy someone is finally doing something but CCP as a company has been totally "blind" to the problem forever Its cost them a lot of cash over the years but I guess it didn't land on the :awesome: list at the meetings..... |

I played around with the settings and would feel better if we have the option of selecting the replacements instead of replacement scales. Perhaps use the scale for maps/UI stuff but allow us to pick and choose overview/inspace colors.
First impressions: enemy red box now looks yellow box, enemy NPC were blue, the enemy ewar icons became some weird shade. Highly confusing.
What I prefer to do is eliminate as much of the crap as possible and make important things visible to me. I.e:
Current Overview Settings
If it were possible, i would make friendly NPC black, enemy stay the current color. Yellow box be white, and red box be yellow or slightly lighter red.
There are so many forms of color blindness it would be easier to let us pick and choose and it would add value to normal players also. |

Awesome. For a game based on colours this is going to be a game changer for me being colour blind. No longer trying to look for red dots on a black background which is almost impossible. Thank you for implementing this.
I expect to get this post deleted or locked. So much for freedom of expression.

While I'm not affected, this is still very good news. +1 to CCP and some additional likes to CCP The Funk for caring.

+1 for the effort to CCP.
Arline Kley wrote:Just a question really: Now that the Colour Blind mode is being developed, will the original UI colour sliders come back for those without?
And +1 to that, with a -8 for CCP.
The ability to pick any color to various GUI object is something that is badly missed, as the crappy static options it was replaced with suck, a "feature" no one wanted, and was done for no apparent reason. |

Thank you for implementing this feature, it has already made my life much easier. Also, thank you for allowing me to customize the feature and not rely on presets.
A few suggestions:
1) Please consider expanding the different color scheme to the bookmark folders so system bookmarks pop out more at the user. 2) Replace the red sig sphere in the scanning map with a different color (for those of us with red/green issues)
and a question:
what is supposed to happen when a user saves an overview in one setting, e.g. Deut and that setting is imported into a user with no custom color blind mode? |

Min Mar wrote:As part of the 8%, I too applaud your efforts to help us out. I would suggest that you include a link to a site that can help those afflicted identify the nature of their color impairedness so your surveys can be answered with accurate information. Here is a link to one: http://enchroma.com/test/instructions/ Looking forward to the tests on Sisi
