I had to reinstall eve the other night after some random file corruption or something, and now I got a big DOS looking client opening every time I open Eve now too.
Never seen it before, how do I go about hiding it so I don't have to stair at it like before?

Might be better if you ask in the support forum. All I can say it it might be part of some new stuff they are putting in for new features..
Like I said go to the support forum and see if there is an answer there.

That doesn't sound very good nor should happen more then once (i know there was a dos box once in one of the builds to fix some issue). I would make sure by troughly checking your computer for viruses / malware / spyware and make sure there is no keylogger active (better be safe then sorry).
This is unless it is part of eve voice, if you have enabled eve voice then disabling it is easy. Go to your account settings trough the eve online website and there should be an option somewhere to disable eve voice (not exactly sure though). That and/or disabling sound should do the trick (if disabling sound is valid for you).

I've looked all over My account page and have seen nothing about how to disable eve voice... also, eve voice has never before prompted this DOS window.
Any further clues?

There is a CMD window when you run it for the 1st time that cheks DX version and installs DX9 if you dont have it. Maybe was added for Vista. I tryed to run it undter Vista theres where i saw it but didnt want to install DX9 and canceld it. May Your Death Be Slow And Painful

Sounds like you start the "ExeFile.exe" directly rather than the "eve.exe" as if the "ExeFile.exe" you will need to launch it with /noconsole if you do not want it to show the console window.
Or simply just launch the "eve.exe" instead of the "bin\ExeFile.exe".
Help me help you. |

That got it Chribba, appreciated. My shortcuts got juggled around when I had to reinstall and it was hitting the wrong one. Thanks much.
