First off yes there might be another thread for this, but could not find it :D
The speed in game is imho rediculous. Battleships moving over 13.ooo Km a second that is just silly! When a ship is moving this fast nothing can touch the ship. There is no missils in game that's moving this fast, there is noone that have tracking that good to hit a ship that fast and there is no drones that can catch up with a ship that fast!! So I have some ideas to counter this on a battleship. If you make a equation that allows speed to affect drones so they get the same tracking as you do the Battleships will loos a huge edge because they will suffer from the poor tracking too. When you use a MWD that exceed the "normal" speed it should start to apply. And increasingly decrease the drones and yours tracking speed coorespondingly.
Another solution is a bit more extreme :)
If you apply a factor of your ships Powercore to become more unstable nad overheating if exceeded use of MWD which in turn again starts to damage your ships from inside meaning it damages your hull!
Or apply CPU and Powergrid nerfs to speed and agility mods which will be so high that you can not fit much on it. To not affect ships thats need speed you give interceptors and other ships like T2 haulers to let them have bonuses to using these mods since the relay on speed to move around, BS's do not relay on speed!!
These are some ideas hate them or love them :D I hope this will be read by CCP and taken into concideration :D

In space there is no friction, ships should be able to easily move at any none relativistic speed.... (up to about 1/2 light speed)
But ignoring that entirely, i thought this had been solved with the nano nerf.... |

Another whine about speed.......
You take a big hit on CPU and powergrid when you fit stuff to get your ship to move that fast. Which means severe limitations on what else you can fit. It has a "nerf" built in already.
You don't like it that your ship can't catch his/her ship? Then fit yours with the speed to catch them. That big ol' battleship orbiting you too fast to track/hit? Give it a minute, his cap will soon flatline (sooner if you vamp it) and you can blaze-away. How about a webber? That'll slow them down.
Point is one can find counter-measures for purt-near anything the other fella (or fellette) can come up with and that should not include getting CCP to 'nerf whatever it is that you have trouble (or just don't want to ) fitting counter-measures against.

Edited by: Trovax on 18/05/2007 11:36:19 Get yourself some friends with a couple of tacklers, webbers in particular, and start working as a team. Problem solved.
I have the same problem. Ships that can outrun me. But thats the setup they chose.
Its not unfair because you have the same choices of setups as that BS, or everyone else in game for that matter (depending on skills of course).
And if you still cant catch him, there are normally at least 15000 other players online, go after one of those instead.
Dont nerf everything just because ONE got away.
