Subject says it all..
because of this feature existing and my desire to move my own personal things i "Select all" and "repackaged" 92 items. including 3 courier packages for my IRL friends and corp mates.. because of this features existance i am now holding all of their stuff and dont even have a list of what all i just "won".
i have a ticket with CCP GMs to hopefully get me a list of the contract assets to return it to them at the delivery location and hope that will help..
no i do not want to "win" their loot. no i do not want to sell it off or keep it..
this idea has existed before and should be resolved by player request that the only 2 reasonable ways to void a courier contract be to BREAK the package or TRASH the package.

Or at least give you a list whenever you steal a courier package so you can resolve it when it happens by accident. (Or on purpose but you want to claim it's an accident) |

Never really mucked about with courier contracts much, but i think the reason repackaging stuff voids them is because of rigs on ships. |

Mistakes should have consequences. Accidentally repackaging a courier contract is sort of like accidentally forgetting to bring ammo to a fight. Neither is going to end well and that's the way it should be.
Your friends could have protected themselves from the mistake by putting collateral on the contracts. As it is, you'll need to negotiate a settlement. I'm sure they remember the important stuff. |

I too do not want to be responsible for my actions. (I also get angry and run to the forums when CCP doesn't answer my petitions the way I desire). |

As someone who regular moves packages for other people, I would like to introduce you to the concept of Reasonable Care.
When you accept a contract to move for someone else, it's your job to make sure that delivery goes smoothly. That means checking to make sure you don't accidentally break their ****.

You could just make the "plastic wrap" prevent repackaging and be done with the stupidity of it all. WTF si that wrap made of anyway if I can't look through 2 layer of it? I can't see what's in there but can repackage it? How do I even do that? |

You could, sure - and I'm not saying it wouldn't be easier for me as well (lord knows I've accidentally repackaged some plastic wraps).
But I like to think of it as the logistical equivalent of jump vs bridge. Do the wrong one and mayhem ensues.
