Missing Persons Report:
Elderly, balding True Amarr gentleman. 6'0, light blue eyes, approx. 165 lbs, has a metal skull. Generally walks with a cane.
Missing for three days after departing to search the depths of the Carthum Conglomerate Factory Station in Baviasi for AWOL members of his crew.
Answers to the call sign Graelyn.
Should be approached with caution and respect. Do not ask him "what is your name?" as that might trigger him.
Best lured with spirits, the liquid kind, or menthol cigarettes.
If found, please contact Lunarisse Daphiti of SFRIM, her retainer Aria Jenneth, or another Director immediately

I can confirm with absolute certainty that the PetCrateCo pet crate arriving at the Deck two days ago did not in any shape, way or form contain an elderly, balding True Amarr gentleman, 6'0, light blue eyes, approx. 165 lbs with a metal skull. Nor was there a cane.
Absolute. Certainty.
No further investigation into this crate and its contents is necessary. |

Ms. Aspenstar, we've heard rumors that the Cardinal was actually abducted by individuals with possible connection to the Serpentis organization while en-route to "party it up in Delve". Would you care to issue a pro forma and unconvincing denial of these rumors that will serve to confirm them in everyone's minds? |

The Society denies the foregoing rumors as preposterous and unfounded.
This is a missing persons report as to an elderly man who wandered off, nothing more. |

kul Shaishi wrote:Aria The title of retainer does not suit you at all you deserve a more grandiose title like grand marshal or something That's ... a little flattering. But, very respectfully, grandeur doesn't appeal to me so much. I'm a heathen among the Amarr. This naturally limits what titles and privileges I can claim. It's a servant's part I play ... but that's okay.
Right now, humor aside, we've got search teams out looking for the Cardinal. We really are kind of worried about him. The people we have out looking, well, I'm in charge of them, kind of. Our security is my responsibility, so, it's my honor to be charged with relocating his Eminence-- and my shame that we could lose track of him in the first place.
Being worthy of the trust and reliance placed on me is more meaningful to me than titles, and I don't really think I'm very well cut out to be a high-level leader to begin with. And I don't really feel like power does a lot of favors to those who possess it, anyway.
So, thank you for saying such a nice thing. It's not something I can quite agree with, though. I'm a small person of limited importance. I'm really pretty okay with staying that way. |

Guys, seriously. The old fart has been around the block a few times, to put it mildly. Unless he has very suddenly deteriorated significantly, he's more capable of handling himself than most of you through sheer experience alone. Add to this that he is a capsuleer of decent means, and his disappearance is highly unlikely to be anything but entirely voluntary and probably entirely intentional on his part.
He is one of those very few capsuleers I'd take seriously in most kinds of challenges, baseliner side of things or not. This level of concern seems strange, unless there's more to it than this. |

I'm not all too familiar with security protocols aboard Amarr stations, but your best bet is to begin formal inquiry with the Station's watch captain. Any guard should be able to direct you to an office. Likewise most stations have terminals where maps are readily accessible.
Prepare some form of proof of affiliation. This could range anywhere from private telecom messages between each other, to familial records, to proof of superiority within a corporation or alliance. Most Security Captains I've met normally aren't willing to launch a manhunt on an individual unless there's a legitimate claim or the wheels are properly greased if a reason is lacking.
Most stations have some sort of remote surveillance system established, and it'll range anywhere from logs of keycard and PIN usage or Biometric scanners, to to live and recorded footage feeds. The size of large station memory banks can rollback normally to at least a week of footage per camera. Due to the Amarr empire's extensive use of automated machinery and slaves, I suspect their security feeds to be top-notch, even in most industrial complexes so as to keep an eye on machine tampering or potential slave revolt.
If you provide a list of Graelyn's active crewmen and known associates, it'll give security more leads to explore and track. At the very least, it'll help reign in those AWOL crewmen if they aren't dead yet.
If you're dealing with criminal elements that may have captured Graelyn, then I recommend having one of your normal crewmen pay off a few station rats and industrial workers to keep an ear to the vents, if you catch my drift. Heightened security activity rarely goes unnoticed, and it'll send lower criminal elements scurrying. Nobody pays attention to the janitor, so they tend to see more than they let on.
Whatever you do, do NOT pay off your informants yourself. Capsuleers stand out like a sore thumb, and if you suspect he was captured by criminals, then they might be looking to grab you too for extra ransom. Don't make that bribe in ISK either, use the station's associated scrip or currency, else you're gonna paint a target on whomever you send out. He'll get tortured, interrogated, and will probably die. Most upper-level criminal elements also scan for electronic signatures and recent scarring, so using anything less than top-of-the line sub-dermal location transmitters is also a death sentence if you're using him as bait.
This is the best I can give. You can make the official queries yourself, but prepare to hire a PMC to watch your back during the duration of the search if you aren't willing to work through proxies. |

Pretty much what both Miz and Elmund said, why worry? He more than likely just needed a break, like all people from time to time do. He seems more than capable to take care of himself and if not theres always soft clones to rely on, unless hes one of those wierd people who think their God doesn't want them to use all technology avaliable to them to better serve him or whatever and look down on soft clones. Personally I doubt thats the case with him. He has common sense. |

So-- to be clear, we're not that worried, or the Praefecta wouldn't be making jokes.
But ... yeah. We are, a little bit.
Amarr stations are ... well ... so....
The station we're based out of is in the heart of the Empire, where the Empire has been a spaceborne power for several thousand years. Amarrian stations here, even the ones now owned by newer entities, tend to have a lot of history. Old structures form the basis for the new, but not everything's getting used all the time.
The depths can get a little Stygian.
So, basically, the Cardinal's overdue on an urban spelunking expedition in a truly three-dimensional setting of several hundred cubic kilometers. He's capable, but, it's not like capable people never get into trouble.
We're not overly concerned (the OP is even mostly a bit of witticism at the Cardinal's expense), but ... yeah. Maybe a little. |
