OK so after yesterday's patch, ship explosions are now EAR-SPLITTINGLY loud, and the audio settings have no effect whatsoever.
And by the way, which of the stupid new audio settings would ship explosions even fall under? None of them really apply, so I muted them all and still had to almost mute the master volume on my computer.

Same here. And the position of the camera have no influence at all. |

The only way to turn off the explosion sound is to also turn off the graphic display for Ship Explosions.
Settings > Display & Graphics (look in center column and uncheck Ship Explosions) |

I would also like to report this as a problem, it's made worse by the fact the particular sound is so low quality, would sound better popping a paper bag. |

Please bring back the audio sliders. Being able to tune which sounds have more volume was integral to game play. Especially for those with visual impairments. We rely on game sounds to know what is going on. Now explosions overwhelm gameplay and comms. Not good. Not good at all.

Thank you Blue Sonja! I agree that the audio change for explosions was terrible. I'm so glad you shared the way to turn it off, because I couldn't figure it out.
CCP - Why did you make this change? Please change it back. |

The 'Settings > Display & Graphics (look in center column and uncheck Ship Explosions)' doesn't work for me.
But i'll agree the sounds are way too high and annoying as hell. |

It seems that almost all of the audio is now back to a state that reminds me of very old technology. Many enhanced audio features are gone, the new ship explosion is well, it has been said already. Such a flat single dimensional sound. No matter the distance of the ship exploding, the sound seems right outside the window, or even inside the ship with you. No depth what so ever. The explosion itself is a sound I remember from Nintendo 64 not certain of the game.
If anything, I would like to see the revolving target markers after targeting a ship, a little smaller. Just to help make that extra inch of screen space. The camera would make me smile if it stayed where I place it. If I am tracking my ship and jump through a gate, would be nice if my camera remained as I left it. TRACKING MY SHIP.
Jumping a gate would be a little more appealing if it were a smooth ride through. Rather than whip the screen 180 degrees to display the other side of the gate, how about a smooth ride 'THROUGH THE GATE'. Docking and undocking, would be really cool if the ship actually entered into and exited from the station graphically.
That is all... (:

I'm having the same issue with horrible harsh explosion sounds when ships go ka-blooey. I'm also getting the same sound when warping away from relic and data sites that have been completely hacked. |
