Ok so first cloaks. And everyone has an opinion on that.
Now it's said by devs on sisi that the nerf to nos is in closed testing. Wonder what it will be, maybe a stacking penalty.
So does the Amarr recon now lack teeth? Or will they perhaps boost the energy drain amount per level for the curse and pilgrim to 30% instead of 20 to negate the nerf to general nos.

Edited by: Haffrage on 28/05/2007 00:39:12 I doubt that they'll nerf the amarr recons too much. You remember what they did to ECM right? Everybody got supergimped but caldari, and caldari only got slightly gimped. I'd say the nanocurses need a nerf though. Alone they're not so bad but when they're with more than just 1 player good god. -----

As long as Neuts don't get nerfed (and there is no reason to), Neut-Curse + cap injector is still viable.
Which one of the devs was it that talked about Nos nerfing? ...

I can't say for sure, but a corp mate said so in general chat. While talking about stuff. I wondered how he knew, he said devs talk about stuff on sisi all the time, plus I think rumours of a nos nerf have been abound for a while.
I wonder though, how long has NOS been this way? Since it was introduced? and if so, why do they weight so long to code in an attribute change. Can't be testing it for 2 years :)

The absolute only worry I have for nerfing nos is that it is really the only way for a smaller ship gang to take down a capital ship currently.

IMO Nos wasn't such a big problem before the hit point increase and the nano-BS setups.
I don't think the long wait is related to coding. It may just be low priority and a lot of discussion and testing to minimize collateral impact. ...

No guys, the proper way to invoke the nerf bat is to start early.
Maybe if we start now we can get the new bombs nerfed before they're even introduced! I'll be a record!

They would use Neuts? Or they could have additional Nos slots added by design or per skill level? Why the panic?
It really depends on how CCP decides to go about it. My preference would be to allow ships to mount as many Nos as currently, but leave some amount of target ship's cap untouchable by this module (say 30%), and require a Neut to complete the job. ...

That's the question, isn't it? Has it in fact been complained about from the very beginning, or is it the result of other nerfing? The way things go, everything will eventually be nerfed because one by one everything gets its turn as the most powerful module as one by one everything else gets nerfed. The time will come where nano-ships and ECM get it again.
It's sad that many calls for nerfs are based on unsound reasoning and misinformation. '4 damps on his ship dampen me too much', 'I can't see that farmer with my spook probe..he must be cloaked', 'NOS is the enemy of Amarr'...
CCP responds to endless whine threads...it gives the perception that a majority of the Eve community particpate in these forums, demanding nerfs, when the majority of the players probably don't care either way. The difference is, those who want a nerf can make far more noise on the forums because those against the nerf are always on the defensive and necessarily need to be 'responding' to calls. Noise, short-sightedness and laziness trumps reason in virtually every aspect of society :(

Just have utility slots ffs. Amarr recons get 4/5 of em and everything else gets 1/2. Problem solved with to many nos on one ship (yes the amarr recons should have 4/5 its their main weapon) ---------------------------

God, I hope so. I trained up for Caldari recons, then the nerf made the Falcon useless (100M blackbird that can fly cloaked), and gimped the rook (used to be able to jam several battleships, which to me was fine because that's all that ship was designed to do - support. Now not so much).
So then I finished Recon Ships V, and I was about to train Amarr Cruiser V, since my drone skills are pretty pwn and I already have IV. Oops.
I guess I'll just have to wait for the next round, or get ahead of the nerf bat.

I don't think they're gonna nerf nos for the pure & simple reason that if they do nerf NOS , we're gonna have one hell of a time to kill Supercaps , anyway i hope the cloaking nerf bat dosen't afect Supercaps , since sometimes it's their only defense .

I don't think that honestly you can take down a supercapital using NOS.
It's been noted elsewhere that Shrike spent more on his officer CPR's and Cap rechargers than on the titan its self. Quickfit shows that you can get the recharge time for a titan's cap under 20 seconds using best officer mods. Less if you're in gang with Shrike or Chowdown (or whoever else has an Avatar =). At peak recharge, that's like 20,000 cap per second. You're not going to be able to touch that with Energy vamps unless you've got 500 battleships with nothing but nos.

I think that this issue gets addressed seperately someday.
And about nos'ing carriers: Noone said, how they want to change nos. Maybe it works with signature radius and heavy nos only reach full nos strength on capital ships. Who knows. --------------------------------------------- *snip* |

add the "buffy" module series.
each one works like an active hardener padding 50/55 (t1, t2) nos resist to your ship.
make em highslot modules so you dont get into the armor vs shieldtank thingy.
