good riddance to those who havent figured out eve and leave because of drama
CCP is doin a great job !
You and Chribba then :)
EDIT: I forgot to say .. yes, at least the three of us. CCP has been handling this very well - and it's their business. I'm a happy camper :)

Originally by: Kzarr Ntakki Well, I'm a newb, just over a month into the game with 6+ or so years of EQ under my belt at the very top of the game (possibly the best fantasy MMO for high-end content out there and still I was bored rigid). I have to say I wish I had found Eve a long time ago. This game is just so non-boring and non-trivial if you make the effort to push the envelope beyond mining in hi-sec. Every trip into lo-sec is still nervous paranoia for me; there are obviously people out there waiting out there (with undoubtedly finely tuned strategies and skills to match) behind many of the gates for me.
So far I have only been caught once when my wireless keyboard batteries died at a crucial juncture at a gate and I got scrambled and webbed and blown away. I have absolutely no chance of physically getting even with the perp in the immediate future but once I had replaced my destroyed ship and augments, I made a point of substantially upping the bounty on his head, and also placing bounties on the heads of his alts which he was kind enough to sequentially number based around the name of his main :).
I thought initially when I started this char that I would fool around with semi-afk mining, but got bored really fast, then discovered ratting and mission running. L2 missions in my BC are now getting easy to own, but slow to move around, so I plan on reverting back to a cruiser soon, then when I have got some more skills will try a couple in a frigate like a Tristran. There's enough in this game to keep me occupied until I have enough skills to at least let me live a reasonable while and put up a decent fight in lo-sec against competent opposition. It's certainly a fun game and I can't honestly see why any newb who steps out of the horrible timesink which is mining would think otherwise. Sure there are players out there at the far end with vastly more skills than me, but that's all the more incentive for me to work out strats and plans for me to kill them horribly in the medium to long term. The majority of the useless will be Darwinianly winnowed out by being bored by not stepping beyond mining, but I am pretty sure there will be a competent playerbase arriving bored from other MMOs that will continue to refill and swell the ranks.
You sir, have a great attitude.
Just wait until you discover pvp. It's not all about old characters and high skills. That nervous paranoia never really fades either. Diminishes some, with ability and confidence, but I still get thrills when the fight kicks off.

Didn't read everything but here's my 11,7 cent on "who would start playing a 5 year old game"... well eve isn't 5 years old because it gets regular retrofits in the form of new content patches. soon (tm) we may even see the new graphics update which would make eve as good as any new game. secondly most ppl that play eve will either love it or hate it - who cares how old the game is?
i mean i just started playing neverwinter nights 1 again and thats older then eve and didn't see any updates in a month of sundays so why should the age of a game scare new players away?
i think, if anything, what will **** many new players off at the begining (especially in empire) will be the lag and generally slow/unresponsive UI... i just was saying to a friend a few days ago.. if eve had an UI that was really fast and responsive (i.e. not having to hammer the jump button and wait 30 seconds to open a hangar etc.) then i personally would find the game a whole category cooler. besides that i really like the game and where CCP is going with it. so the only thing needed is for CCP to address the terrible UI/client so everything works like a dread with only minimal lag and loading times. that would make eve so much better (better then it already is ) |

So suckup posts don't get locked but leaving posts do?
Typical CCP.
Explain why this post is constructive and remains active? I request a lock in the name of equality. But that is not CCP's way... we don't want to have same rules for all don't we?

Though mind you, if the other two people playing were mission runners, they'd each have about 10 petitions open: 1) They lost their Navy Raven to lag 2) They lost their drones to lag 3) They didn't get the correct sec increase for killing a mission rat 4) They lost their Navy raven to me 5) They don't like my name 6) They don't like my bio 7) They don't like my sig 8) They don't like what I say in local 9) They don't like me 10) Nerf me
Thinking about it, if there were 3 people left in EVE, I'd get petitioned so much that I'd deffo get a ban... So there would be only 2 people left in EVE...
It seems more like your crying about things lol

I agree with posters who say that it's a game you either love or hate. If you hate it, you won't be happy and leave. If you love it, who cares if it's 5 years old? It's simply your attitude to the game that counts, not the age of it.
Look at the game called Elite. How old is that? and yet people are still playing it now, some for the first time.
