I have recently gone back to scanning after the Crucible patch and cannot lock any signature down.
I can get every signature to around 20% but as soon as I drop my scan range or re-position the probes the signature is gone.
Did it de-spawn I hear you say, well no because I can still find it again but never ever get better than 20%.
I am scanning with a Buzzard with 2 x Grav rigs and Sisters launcher and probes.
All of my scanning skills are 4 or 5 so I know it is not down to lack of them and I didn't have a problem prior to the patch.
Any ideas?

I recently had the same problem.
Check your filter settings. Apparently, one of the last patches reset all of them, so your list of hits will not show any radar/ladar/mag/anom sites. It will, however, show sites that you cannot identify yet. Hence the sites mysteriously disappear as soon as you get a good enough hit on them to identify what type they are. |

This is the correct solution to your problem. I had the exact same issue and changing the filter settings worked.
