Starlancers are recruiting again, having joined up with Mordus Angels Alliance in a return to the merc biz.
We Offer
A 0.0 base Plenty of opportunity for PvP within an alliance with a solid reputation Friendly, experienced and skilled corpmates One of the coolest corp logos around
We Want
Pilots with experience, or at the least an active interest, in the 0.0 PvP life A reasonable amount of combat oriented skill points People who are self sufficient Industrial pilots are also welcome however
We Expect
A committment to be based in 0.0 before advancing through Starlancers ranks A reasonable committment to corp and alliance activities (though never at the expense of rl)
Application Process
In the first instance you should visit our public channel 'Bar - Lancers' and hang around chat to the folk there. Ask questions, find out about us from our friends, make sure we're the kind of corp you want to be a part of.
If you can't catch a Starlancer when you're around mail me and I'll try to catch you, or get someone in your timezone to convo when you're around.
You should do the above and talk to a corp member or three before making an application. Applications made before talking with current members will be rejected out of hand.
After spending a few days in the Bar, we may ask you to put in an application at our HQ. This is a 0.0 based office and serves as an initial indication of your willingness to be out in lawless space. You will also be asked to provide a current screenshot of your character selection screen and your wallet transactions as a precaution against alts and spies.
We'll look forward to hearing from you

Hey Finn One of the things members often comment on is the high return rate in Starlancers. People move on, try other things, seek new frontiers, and then frequently come back to the fold. Either we're doing something right and Starlancers is a place people feel happy in, or it's the high grade, addictive drugs I sneak into their pod's feeding tubes

One skill set we're currently interested to recruit is system scanners. Particularly for when cloak ships become scannable, but also to help us pressure a local contingent of ISK farmers who require to be strongly urged to relocate (after we've relocated their corpses to a can at the door to our home system )

Ratting is not bad at all where we live, mining...erm... I can't really say, but should be decent. As for PvP action, there is something going on every single day. We're looking for PvPers, but if you're an industrialist, don't be shy, meet us in the bar, we might just have something for you as well.

I'm proud to announce that today, 19th June, is the first official Starlancers 'Phoenix Mulderdart Day'.
Phoenix has been a stalwart of Starlancers Corp from its inception as defenders of CIC, as well as in Freelancing Corp's PvP wing before that. His dedication, friendship and humour have strengthened our corporation from its early days of 4 inexperienced pilots learning the hard way, through the halcyon days of leading 30 strong CIC fleets, into our rebirth as mercs in empire and 0.0, and beyond - even after he decided to stop playing.
It's people like Phoenix that make Eve such a special place to spend our time, and it makes me immensely proud to be a part of a corporation that attracts people like him.

I must add that since i've been made welcome in the Starlancers ive really enjoyed my experiences. I was interested in the pvp aspect of the game but was a little overwhelmed by the skills i would need.
With a little advice from the more experienced pilots i dived headlong into pvp and have found it's a great buzz being in a gang commanded by one of our fleet commanders. No matter what happened they never loose their cool or sense of humour.

Just recently joined the corp and I have to say it has been a blast. A great and active group of people who fight to the end and always make time to help others.

Indeed, if it's quiet we're probably just out blowing people up, or looking for people to blow up, or talking about people we just blew up or, just possibly, being blown up ourselves But say hi anyway.

SON OF A GUN After sailors had crossed the Atlantic to the West Indies, they would take the native women on board the ship and have their way with them in between the cannons. Some of the women the sailors left behind would have boys, who were called sons between the guns.

You see - skill, experience, camaraderie, 0.0 access, plenty of PvP and as much naval trivia as you could ever want. What more could anyone ask for of a corporation?

I must say i'm glad to be a starlancer however it can have some drawbacks at times. Some of the older pilots might not admit this but they have made quite a name for this corp and themselves. So when you ump into a system and see some nice enemies to shoot quite foten they run away and don't take you on.
Thanks for all the pvp tips and fittings advice guys i'm getting there still loosing ships a plenty but i'm causing more isk worth of damage than i am receiving.
Thanks to a Myridon setup given to me by a fellow lancer i managed to tank an astarte command ship and got my most impressive kill to date. Without the advice from my friends and officers in the lancers i would have never thought of trying a move like that.
ps. watch out for the badgers

Hehe It's like the man said - 'It is a principle of the art of war that one should simply lay down his life and strike. If one's opponent also does the same it is an even match. Defeating one's opponent is then a matter of faith and destiny'. Well, faith, destiny, and friends with big guns at your back

Nuala takes the mic, puts on his best Cheshire accent, and launches into song ...
There's forty shillings on the drum To those that volunteer to come To 'list and fight the foe today Over the hills and far away.
O'er the hills and o'er the main Through Pure Blind, Fountain, Curse and Stain The call to war resounds this day O'er the hills and far away.
When duty calls me I must go To stand and face another foe But part of me will always stray Over the hills and far away
O'er the hills and o'er the main Through Pure Blind, Fountain, Curse and Stain The call to war resounds this day O'er the hills and far away.
If I should fall to rise no more As many comrades did before Then ask the fifes and drums to play Over the hills and far away
O'er the hills and o'er the main Through Pure Blind, Fountain, Curse and Stain The call to war resounds this day O'er the hills and far away.
Then fall in lads behind the drum With colours blazing like the sun Along the road to come what may Over the hills and far away
O'er the hills and o'er the main Through Pure Blind, Fountain, Curse and Stain The call to war resounds this day O'er the hills and far away.
Loved that show - rewatching it again at the moment too
Oh, and Linkage with one more for good measure Over the Hills and Far Away

I should note, for those given to be over-literal, that the regions mentioned are mostly by way of the rhyme and not a statement of intent (though you never know where the tides of war might take us ), and that, no, you won't actually get a shilling when you join. It's unfortunate, but there you go
