Ok, this is how I think the way offices should work in EVE.
- IF the office is not used for such n such amount of time, it will be unrented automatically.
- If a Corporation Disbands, the office that corporation had is unrented.
This is a simple and easy way to fix this office space problem. ---

I never thought I would hear myself agree with TankCEO. However I do recognize a good idea when I see one. "You've Got to be Nuckin Futs!!" |

Not keen on the first one, but that's 'cos I rented some offices as forward planning for a long-term scheme. Objectively it's not a bad thing.
Second idea you'd have thought would have been obvious before the game even got out of beta. If a corp no longer exists, how can it have an office? So yeah .. vote TankCEO for office manager! lol

I agree with Ar that I never though I would second a motion by Tank, but this is a good idea. Corps that have been disbanded should loose all their rentals. Expiring office rentals is a more complicated issue and I can see both sides of it.
Squatting offices is an inconvience for corporations but can be used as a legitimate method of detering other corporations from operating in certain systems. A good alternative to hangar's expiring would be the ability to buy out another corporations rental. This could be done by either paying off a corporation with an existing hangar to transfer the rental or 'bribe' the faction/station an exobornant amount of isk to cancel a rental at random and deposit all the corp's assets into the CEO's personal hangar.
Just my two cents

It'd be better if corporations at war could challenge for office space, if the holder did not show to defend their claim the office space would be forfeit to the challenger.
Some rules of engagement around this would of course be needed, timelimit, lvl of engagement needed to achieve victory or stand-off...

I agree with this. There should also be the possibility to trade offices between corps. You could create real estate corps then.

( I would rather add a corporation management skill, which level determines how many offices you can rent at the same time. )

Like i don't already have enough junk to train? Jeez, I knew agreeing to be the CEO just cos nobody else wanted to was a really really bad idea.

Yep, there's a whole new account waiting to happen there.
