Edited by: Sapphrine on 02/06/2007 17:00:09 Edited by: Sapphrine on 02/06/2007 16:52:33 A brief update for those following this.
Following a number of weeks of failure to beat U'K and allied forces in 9uy CVA began POS spamming in 9uy last week. U'K successfully counter spammed last week. This weekend CVA decided.... lets do it again! Last night a further 7 towers went up taking CVA to 20 towers to our 12. U'K were successfully able to counter spam before DT and we then logged on to find that soverignty was still being contested despite having 22:20 in POS claiming sov before DT. CVA are about to finally finish capturing the station as this goes to press. There will of course now be a whole new fun period of soverignty ping pong.
Firstly, whilst i'm obviously biased one way, congratulations on fully utilising game mechanics to lob up towers CVA. There is indeed more than one way to skin a cat and since you don't seem able to win a face up confrontation at the minute you do have the ability to spam towers down to a pat. I tip my hat.
Secondly, this is hardly over. CVA have done naff all to U'K towers so far and with 22 hostile towers in system to them i think they'll find this fight is far from over :)
Thirdly, to all you guys that are watching and think that is it if we lose 9uy. Ushra'Khan are an alliance of people. We fight together, we die together. We fight for a cause not for space. We will never give up and we will fight to the last to defeat CVA. CVA believe that all of Providence is destined to be an Amarrian area of space... We disagree and we will not be stopped even by the loss of Unity station. We will simply have yet another target area to shoot slavers in.
Providence shall continue to burn and we await seeing how CVA respond once they've actually got to fight us instead of lobbing up towers when our guys are asleep :)

I'd imagine there will be fighting... I can't currently get into game so don't hold me to this 100% but i believe every moon is now covered and Sov should revert back on investigation. (22:20 in our favour so unless something daft happened it should never have been lost!) All moons full kinda ends further spamming i'd say? :) Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

CVA reached an old time low and now i stand completely dissillusioned on the state of RP in EVE.
I now see that ONLY in U'K' can people feel proud for being an RP alliance (at least old minmattar-amarr one).

Sapp, towers have to be up for 5 days to count on the DT check. CVA spammed just before DT 5 days ago and you spammed back after. As such for todays check they're ahead. You should be ahead again by 1 (your counter spam after DT 5 or so days ago) and will remain ahead as you've overmatched them tower for tower since.
Basically, you're forgetting the 5-6 DT lag on each tower. I have no doubt that Unity can be reclaimed tomorrow.

You can't even control your Capital system. Why don't you build another outpost for CVA to take.
Well done CVA. It's good to see the good guys winning for a change.

There has never been a DT where we have not had more large towers up than CVA.

1) Ushra'khan have more large towers than CVA 2) CVA has not killed a single Large tower in 9uy. 3) Unless CVA actually fight instead of spam, sov will be ours again soon enough. As will unity. Given they havent tried to kill any of our pos in the last three weeks, I dont see this changing.
So please CVA give us a fight.

Actually there was. I was online and reading the Unite channel when CVA spammed 7 towers shortly before downtime. UK spammed back that afternoon. As a result, CVA had one more POS then UK at downtime.

Towers only count towards sovereignty if they have been up for 5 days (120 hours) minimum when DT hits.
So it isn't as simple as who has the most towers up at downtime. -

See, we were all assuming CVA wanted a fair fight. They didn't want a fair fight, they wanted to win. Much like all the major alliances, they just throw everything in one giant ball at something (I hope Revelations 2 will be changing the numbers game they like to play but it may come too late for us). Then they start foaming at the mouth when we brought in people like Butter Dog and ENH, etc. What a shock. We were trying to equal numbers up while also trying to not be so spread out dealing with them as enemies so we wouldn't have to roll up and play dead. Well, they know which butt cheek to kiss if they have a problem with that. I may not agree with the deals that were struck but I am not going to disagree with the logic of it.
So congradulations to CVA for coming after a poorer alliance by using your large resources to take advantage of weak game mechanics instead of doing a stand up fight. I expect it will be only a matter of time though before you find yourselves running yourselves ragged trying to deal with 3 major entrances into the southern part of 0.0, 2 of which border on high security space, while also trying to maintain your sanity in trying to manage a station on a major highway system.
As for our detractors:
IAC: I never liked you guys. I bear grudges and you did some mean things to my original corp, plus your 'head honcho' is an egotistical self-righteous ass who has used some extremely despicable and dishonorable tactics in the past.
Slyph: I liked you guys in the beginning. You stood up and helped during the pirate war. But once that was over, you disappeared and NAP'd everyone in sight, making it look like you had cold feet and were scared of getting stomped on, so you did basically nothing but make territorial demands. Many of your members left because of that lack of backbone. Then you went behind our backs and tried to ally with some rather big former members of a once large alliance to try to take Unity. And then you tried to do it again several months later with someone else. I imagine it will be only a matter of time before you do the same with CVA when they don't just cave in to your eventual demands considering your track record.
What is amazing is that the only ones I got any real respect for down in Providence is the Establishment. At least when they came in, they were interested in really trying to settle this like men.

If ever there was proof needed that the existing system of sovereignty and POS warfare was broken and very much not fun... . Every single moon in 9UY4-H now has a tower at it -- that's well over 50 towers. I can't imagine that either side will have time to fight with all the refueling we'll be doing.

As one of our guys said, we should of pitted 10 of our warriors against 10 of CVA's, whoever wins gets sovereignty, but then again as i think ugleb pointed out, IC we dont have enough respect for CVA to do that, they are evil after all

Indeed. It is my hope that we're just going through a temporary "phase" in our long standing conflict. I think emotions are running a little higher than normal lately since this is the first time in approaching a year (about as long as I've been with the alliance) that U'K have been able to put up a formidable resistance against concentrated CVA efforts. In the past, it was skirmshes to either side, but we were more often than not overwhelmed on any key operations. Now that that playing field has morphed a bit, it will take some tactical and psychological adjusting, I figure.
Congratulations to our enemies though, they definitely worked hard to reach this point, and I hope they prefer that to it having been too easy.
