Ok, sorry if this has been spoken of before, but a cool idea for the game could be the implementation of a tractor beam module (with varying strengths) Uses would be;
Civillian: Pull cans to you instead of having to fly all over creation. Range and speed of tug varying on rarity of module/size (Frig/Cruis/Battle)
Pirate: Perhaps as a longe-range webifier, slowing a target down -or- if the strength of beam is greater than or equal to ship engine strength, move them towards you.
Think this would be a difficult thing to implement/balance but a very neat feature all in all. Being able to tug cans to you while still engaged in combat would be extremely handy. And think about the miner who is depositing ore into a floating can, moving from roid to roid would no longer be such a headache, just tractor your old can to you and carry on. Feel free to bump this ; )

hmm was a good idea soul....but its already in the game =P
back in the jovian event in stain..some of the jovians were using tractor beam to pull individual ships to a moon and kill them...they pulled them quite a few au away...alot of us think that the GM's were just testing out the tech 3 equip...cuz they were using insane dmg guns..jump drives go blazing speeds and so on....but good idea anyways...although it will be comming out tech 3 i suspect

Yep, this idea was suggested MANY times but not officially released or mentionned. Some of "jovian scout trip in stain" actors have seen it (or have believe they have seen it) in action. __________
