I know that the eve dictionary says something about "Interstellar Kredits".
But what does ISK really mean?
You cannot fool me with kredits, it is called credits! So you need to come up with something better, ha!

Really it stands for Icelandic Krona (in Icelandic), which is CCP's native currency. But for EVE purposes, it's Interstellar Kredits --------

Why not? No other game uses it. None ever will. Compared to the usual "gold" and "credits" schtick for fantasy and sci-fi respectively, CCP found a pretty original currency name.

This discussion was brought up a few times years ago before instellar kredits became the official name, people guessed it might mean interstellar kredits and sure enough in the new player experience tutorials it was changed.
It might always have meant interstellar kredits and the players just guessed correctly before it was ever made 'official' in the game, but it'd be nice to think this was purely a player created input into the backstory.
Although kredit is still a stupid word. --------- EVE is like a box of chocolates.

Yeah, instead of using that lame, cliched name 'credit' they used 'kredit' instead.
I see your point. D: --------- EVE is like a box of chocolates.
