Edited by: Sheriff Jones on 12/06/2007 13:10:55 So here's an idea of thought i've been using ever since i...started playing games.
Whenever there's a change in game, or a "nerf" if you will of sorts, think of it from an in-game research/developement point of view.
Let's take an example: The probe "nerf". Now probes can find cloaked ships(don't know if it's coming or not, anyhoop, not about that.)
Ok, one would say "they nerfed stuff!" or "they changed and ruinder the game".
Or, they could think like i mentioned above and go "So, the goverments noticed an increase in cloaked ships and now they are bringing in new technology to counter this. Logical progression."
The nano nerf? You could say that the manufacturers noticed that the added bonus from several similar units were causing a serious risk in hull integrity, not saying that it would, but it could cause a problem and as such, insurance and ship building unions wouldn't let those old, faulty mods to be placed as such.
This is not a "nerf the whine" thread, or a "stop whining" thread, or even a "I want a full body eris discordia poster on my wall" thread. Just thought i'd start a discussion on how to look at things in a different perspective so that it doesn't "miff" you so much, if it does at all, when things change.
That all
So yeah, i have a problem with being serious, but it's the almost smallest problem i have. |

It is now
But yeah, finding the balance between the in-game world and the game-game world can probably be tiresome. Half the time the RP explanation is garbage so they should bring X back, or the other half the time the RL explanation is bad and ccp doesn't cater to casual gamers. Yes, but this isn't so much an RP post as it is a different point of view thing. Just to maybe, even a bit, soothe the boiling minds of those who feel wronged.

During the last live dev blog/interview they said this is not going to rev 2, but they were still considering how to counteract people staying cloaked for very long time periods.

i'm sure not all corporations would care about risk to hull integrity if there is demand for that and surely pirate factions would continue to manufacture propulsion injection vents. so... give us True Sansha Propulsion Injection Vents!!! or Tobias' Modified Overdrive Injector :D --

I was saying why did they nerf the ECM?
Vets complained they could not catch the bewbs?
Why couldn't they just boost their signal stength or what ever?
But no forget it, they could not try and use tactics and took away another fun module.
Do what you want to EVE, as long as nothing fun is taken away and anything new is fun.
