So the ones that seem to be more responsible are
fra7-fra1-racc1.fra.seabone.net and global-crossing-1-us-fra7.fra.seabone.net since the loss of packages initiates here

Hi,
We are a group of guys living in Northern Italy and we have experienced several (10-20 per evening) disconnections from game. We are not in the same ISP so we think this is not a local ISP problem and also we get all disconnected at same time so I think the problem shall be in a common node.... But anyway keep connecting about 15 times average per day during 3 days is enough to get moving to track that problem.

A lot of "connection lost" in the last 3-4 days. It happens at exactly the same time to many people in my corp (we're all from Italy), so it's network related. I will run the trace tool this evening when I get home.

Had 10 connection lost on less than one hour.... Do you think is worth to pay to be docked at station? I'm seriously reconsidering to cancel my subscription, and I'm not the only one so please at least post that something is being done to solve that problem, because it seems to be a dead end.

I just had Verizon FiOS installed today, and for the first time in my eve experience am disconnecting after being afk for more than 5 minutes. Might be helpful information, might not be. I know nothing about these things.

Im from Greece My greek Isp is Tellas (www.tellas.gr)
EVE is unplayable. Im unable to play due to random and frequent disconnects from EVE. Never had that before in EVE and never had that in any other online game I play.
When I disconnect, its only EVE. My connection runs fine, and I can talk in ventrillo and surf the net normally. I just lose connection for about 1 minute.
I did run ping plotter and Fra. hop seem to be having an issue when things go the dark alley.

Originally by: Darth Vaders Edited by: Darth Vaders on 14/06/2007 11:31:18 Edited by: Darth Vaders on 14/06/2007 11:03:47 I had lots of disconnections last couple of days. Yesterday night though and between 21.00gmt and 01.00 i managed to play without problems. Then i went to sleep. Today i get massive disconnections once more :(
In game i am into an area without lots of traffic.I connect from Greece (Tellas ISP) . My line is ADSL 2mbps/256. My configuration is p4 2.6(HT), 6600GT 128, 1GB ram WIN XP PRO SP2 with all patches. This time i ll erase all cashe and disable the one virtual processor and see what happens. (although this was not a problem before)
Some more info on the exact situation when i lose connection.
1) When i lose connection the rest of internet works fine without any disconnections.
2) Immediatly after the disconnection sometimes for some seconds the server status shows nothing so i have to close the program and retry after 2-3 minutes.Usually when this happens i can't also open open your EVE page for 2-3 minutes while i can open every other internet page. Other times though i can.
3) Other times i can reconnect immediatly and server status demonstrates immediatly the number of players on.And Eve page works fine. Since it was ok 3 days before i suspect that maybe something you changed last 3 days may causing it.
EDITED FOR INFO UPDATE
I run some ping tests to the tranquility server
It occurs to me that the following 2 chainlinks are suspicious to be guily. They are the ones that are giving 100% loss of packets when the disconnections occur. I will send you also via email but as quick info:
195.22.218.211 195.22.211.42
Also this one
195.22.211.217 not in this test report
The whole ping results ... .... etc
wow just read this. Im from the same ISP and I experience the SAME issues with eve the past week or so
Also I get the feeling it has to do with dual accounts because the disconnects happen more frequently when i run more than one accs at the same time, and usually only one disconnects

Edited by: Darth Vaders on 16/06/2007 00:02:23 Yes, i happen to have a dual account. But that is irrelevent. I started experience the disconnections one day before i created the new account. Although the other account was having disconnections slightly more frequent than the first but maybe that is a matter of chance. I also never enter with the 2 accounts in the same time cause i think its lame. (it's like cheating in a way)
I have more input to give on the situation. Desperate as i was i decided to remove the Hyperthreading feature from bios. Nothing .Then i uninstalled and reinstalled Eve in a new folder. Nothing changed although i have to say that lag (another issue of Eve is lag) well, lag disappeared. Espesially when i changed some options to not save the logs and not load station enviroments and not leave ships obscure the sun. So to anyone is experiencing lag in general (this hasnt to do with disconnections) i suggest him to do these changes at the game's options menu.
Now lets get to the disconnections issue. I had tried everything even contacted my provider to ask them if they knew anything about that broken nod problem. And there the technician of Tellas showed his non proffessionality cause he hadn't a clue. He wasn't even aware of the ping programms etc. (famous Greek proffessionality,anyway...)
Knowing that Tellas is unaware of the problem i decided to try one last thing. I decided to try other ISPs thinking that perhaps one of them could use a different route to CCP.
So i bought a NETCARD (time card so to test the ISPs network) of Forthnet. Well i was on from 14:30 (GMT +3) till now and 03.00 (Gmt +3) i hadn't a single disconnection!! So i suggest the friend from Greece to try Forthnet . The strange thing though is that at the ping test Forthent gave me 2 broken links with 100% loss of packages!!! But strangly i could connect and play all this time without a single drop. As far as concerns me i am changing provider.
I suggest the other users that have problems to try to find another provider that can get their job done. Its a matter of chance really. Try to find some demo connection so to test which provider can bypass the broken links somehow. If connection demos are unavailiable buy a time card of each provider and see what ISP network works best for you.
Since each provider sets his network differently i guess that there is hope to find someone who either connects to CCPs server using other route or that for some unknown reason "bypasses" the broken links in a different manner that will somehow make the game work.
Anyway this is not my final word i will test it some some more. Also i don't know if CCP made any changes in the meantime that helped the situation in any way.
But after today's Eve experience that was without disconnections and without lag even with 30 thousant players on I have to say that perhaps i may have been a little harsh with CCP in general. Well i am sorry CCP i really love this game and it feels so painful when i can't play it for some crazy reason like this.

Maybe this is a multifactorial problem, with lots of ppl complaining about disconnections, but caused by different issues. IŠll try to explain my case (sorry but i know nothing about net technical matters and my english ainŠt much good too)
I had three periods of constant Eve disconnections (every 15 - 30 mins) in 1 year and 3 months playing Eve: BOTH times it was ISP related, due to connection INTERMITTENCY (according to ISP technical service). I use 4mb cable connection, btw. Both times the issue was totally solved after i contacted the ISP technical service.
- First time i was having internet line disconnections (may/06). ISP tech service detected a ISP side hardware issue. Had no disconnections after they fixed it.
- Second time (September/october 2006) again full internet disconnections, but Eve dctd even when the signal was UP. ISP techs told me the intermittency was now being caused by physical interference to the transmission cables - then i had no disconnections after the cable damaging was repaired.
- Third time, constant disconnections restarted 2 weeks ago (now ONLY Eve was disconnecting, since i couldnŠt notice any breaks in softwares like emule, web radios or browsers), at least twice in an hour. I again contacted the ISP tech service. This time, they told my connection has something called "px" and "rpx" numbers (whatever that means i dunno), and that the RPX thingie was somehow showing incorrect. They made a remote "reset" of my modem, and i have had NO disconnections since then.
Most of the time Eve would reconnect right after, but ONLY if i relaunched the client, otherwise it would stay searching for a connection with ccp server for a long time. Also, Eve seems to be the program most affected by line intermittency, cuz i could surf the web or even keep listening to the Eve radio while Eve loss connection.
Just my 2 cents. Fly safe u all

The broken links on the route are still there. The ping test is not lieing. It's just that somehow in a strange, wierd, odd, unusual manner other ISPs "manage to bypass" it while others no.

IMO tracerouting the path will not discover anything useful, since ICMP messages are usually handled differently then rest of traffic.
I presume that CCP network admins are checking network devices near to cluster for load ballancing issues, witch could cause droping random connection on overloaded router of FW.

Eve online is not compliant with *many* ISPs config. This is not an ISP issue it's an Eve issue.
It's now impossible to play the game.
CCP please solve this or at least give us some feedback

Using OTENET i am having connection drops although somewhat diminished. I don't seem to have this fra.seabone server on my way. Take a look at my results. (I also have sent them to CCP via mail) . Something looks terribly wrong in general. About every server on the way seems to have package lossses. I think the problem is relevent to CCP since i dont have such issues with other adresses but i am unsure of CCPs implication in the matter.

i filed a petiton on the 5th about this issue and was asked 2 days ago to send in my pingplotter charts. can we get some sort of status update? i haven't been able to play since i renewed my account on the 2nd. considering ccp probably won't reimburse my time lost due to connection issues, i'm very disappointed to see it taking this long to see any action. there are 16 days left on my account at this moment, and i'm really considering leaving eve for the 2nd time in a row. (yes, waaaambulance. no, you can't have my stuff.)
please make the hamsters run faster. give them more food, do what you have to... having to wait 12 days to at least hear "yes we're having connection issues" isn't very reassuring. can i guess it'll take 4 months to fix? --gordo |

I'm getting random disconnects also, as anyone in Italy using Telecom Italia as provider, while people using different providers don't have connection issues.
Traceroute shows packet loss on 151.99.99.149 and 151.99.29.214 during disconnects. Report sent to CCP via mail.

You can post, send or do whatever you want they NEVER will admit is their fault. CCP guys... there are many many many online games and with that support the only thing you are getting is angriness from customers... not a good thing to deal with. Start showing up and replying...

while seabone may be on your route to the server, it's not the same route others use. i still think most of this stems down to limelight and their shoddy network team. they have a habit of changing their routes constantly, which drops traffic among other things.
figured i'd also update on my situation. still waiting on an email back from sending in my pingplotters to the SCC@ email address. i unfortunately don't forsee a response till after the patch is released tuesday. if i cross my fingers anymore, i might break them. --gordo |

Have had Verizon come out and replace everything, including the modems, the wiring in my house, etc. and I am still getting dropped every 15minutes to an hour. At the same time, this did not start until I switched to this service, so it leads me to believe it is at least partly them, or the way they are communicating with CCP.
Are there any other things I can have them do before eliminating them as the cause?
Also, all this talk of tracing is confusing to me. Can someone break it down to an internet jackace?
