if my theoretical targetting range is about 360km and i get dampened, is my locking range first capped, then the dampners applied or does the cap only apply if my range is over 250k after 25 celestis and 10 arazus are accounted for?
thanks. --

Geee... I wonder why.
To the OP - I believe the cap is applied after all other calculations. RISE - Minister of Foreign Affairs

Sugar cubes melt in coffee and cease to be discrete objects. 0 is an even number. RISE - Minister of Foreign Affairs

The answer is one, one, and twelve sugar cubes, which is an odd number of sugar cubes for a cup of coffee......

theoraticly speaking, you cease to exist against 25 celestis and 10 arazus even before you can check your range so the answer is irrelevant

Practically speaking, anything beyond the 4th (or say the 5th) dampner doesn't matter anyway due to the stacking nerf. _ New char creation guide | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

orly? remote repairs and dual rep tank 4tw. and next time bring a sarcasm detector.
i just asked a simple question because i'm trying to actually find a solution to all the dampeners i encounter instead of whining. --

yup. however, in my curse i have a locking range of 156km. with one sensor booster i hit the cap of locking range. now my question is if i waste a med slot if i add another sensor booster because the range gets capped at 250km first and then dampeners are considered or if the cap is applied last.
so i figure, including stacking penalty of dampeners, one sensor booster should be enough and i would end up at about a locking range of my nos range which is fine.
woot for constructive posts!

Edited by: Akita T on 13/06/2007 17:18:44 The answer is simple, get into FD-MLJ on SiSi and... try it out ? :) I can provide the dampening
P.S. That means, as soon as it gets back up (SiSi). _ New char creation guide | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

Well if you had originaly written your question out like that, it would be easier to answer..
The answer is very simple one to figure out. Put 2 sensor boosters on your curse, have a mate damp you, check your ships max targeting range, then activate your second sensor booster. If the max range improves, then you have your answer...

Edited by: Christopher Dalran on 13/06/2007 18:37:40 I believe at the end of calculation the game checks to see if your over maximum values and simply imputs the max. Test it in game, just get a buddy to damp you using 2 sensor boosters and if your higher than using just one the answer is yes you can use more boosters if you expect to be damped.
Also after 5 dampers they do absolutly nothing (anything after 5 does 0%, the 5th is so low it is useless aswell) even if all the dampers are from different people (the game does not care where they come from, only how many are on a particular target).
Since your lock range is so long I seriously doubt that your biggest concern will be getting damped below locking range, I think you should be more worried about your locking times and wether or not they have any ECM bursts which realy make damped locking times hurt and as far as locking times go they will continue to get better even if you have your max locking range so they will still be useful even if they do nothing for range. ------------------------------- C.D's Formula for success ------------------------------- Credit Card = Game Time Card Gametime Card = ISK Therefore Credit Card = ISK.

yea i guess i'll have to test it. i thought someone might have tried it out yet so i asked :)
btw, is the stacking nerf applied per ship (each ship having 100% for the 1st, 87% for 2nd etc) or to all ships dampening (going from best to lowest skill)? i hope this is understandable lol, it's a bit late already :)
thanks

Cap is applied after every other calculation has been done.
