Edited by: Neysani on 13/06/2007 20:02:30 I'm a new player and have been tossing around ideas for ships I'd like to PvP in. I've decided to start out with interceptors and then work my way up from there. I'm caldari but have no problem with training into other races ships. Any input on what inty would be best for a PvP role?

Edited by: tarin adur on 13/06/2007 20:28:03 There's the Crow(Caldari interceptor) which can do alot of awesome tasks....There's the crusader(amarr inty) which gets very fast...there' claw that gets even faster....And there's the Taranis(Gallente inty) which puts out most dps for an inty....your choice
Any of them can PvP effectively....but i use/prefer the taranis

The claw is indeed faster than the crusader (by 20 m/s base speed) but has 12.5% more mass, and fewer low slots to install speed modules... I was of the impression that the crusader was generally the fastest interceptor, assuming equal levels of equipment in relation to other ceptors. __________________________________ <-- Behold, the eve-o forums |

Claw and Crusader both have 4 low slots.
I fly both and i tend to get more speed from my claw, because a Crusader needs more CPRs to keep its guns and tackle going.
The Crusader is theoretically faster, but in practice the claw is normally the quicker (unless if using the 200mm plate setup).

Crow is a fantastic ship to run around in looking for inty duels, as long as you know what you're doing. Speed = life, get webbed and you're dead in one.

For gangs of 20+, I'd go Stiletto. For killing other interceptors in 1v1 or small gang, Crow. For killing larger ships like cruisers of haulers, Crusader.

Edited by: lyrenna on 14/06/2007 00:49:29 claw/crow both are great, both has nice slot layout than others, i preffer crow standard missiles help you for staying away from web range and they dont need to track, you have enough room to fit 2x24k scram+cap recharger for avoiding webs while dealing with wcs etc.

Nope, Claw is fastest (I tried it out yesterday). ---

IMHO crow, it seems like due to the fact it does not have to worry about tracking it can put it's speed to the best use.
It also has a certain amount of flexablity due to it's slot layout.
Having said that I have heard great arguements for both the crusader and the taranis...

I can fly both caldari and matar ceptors and imo they are the best for pvp.
I started with crow, I have spend 6 months of eve with it (small gang, pirating, merc wars) many kills , so much fun, reasonable losses.
Then I have switched to stiletto (I was attracted with vagabond and quit caldari training past crow), my crow setups were expensive so I was playing rather safe and realised that ceptors ment to be expendable and stiletto was really a refreshment.
Tackled a 250mil+ worth crow (it was flying 10k+ m/sn) with my 12 million stiletto, yeah piloting skillz ftw .
If u play teamwork get a stiletto, its an awesome ship !!!

Thanks for the info everyone, I'll be in a Crow fairly soon. :-) We'll see how things go from there.
