I haven't seen any price predictions on the new faction tower and pos module BPC's. I'm sure someone like BOB and ex-D2 would pay through the nose for them, considering their "so worth it" bonuses.

Personally I think they will be more popular with smaller pos runners, specially in lowsec (if they can be used there). They make little sense for alliance side stuff because against a fleet for 20+ dreads whose bonuses are not going to matter the slightest. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

I thought the POS wars had been changed to exactly stop that kind of dread blobing.
Towers can now be equipped with capital scramblers and cap drainers. So, the POS owner can jump in their own fleet on top and they wouldn't be able to escape.
Sending in regular ships to take out those modules would be essential.

Nothing has changed that will significantly stop Dread blobbing, it will only make it worse. Dreads will need to super-blob in order to quickly take out the guns and neut arrays (the only things that can put them in danger) now that they're more vulnerable in POS sieges.
As for the subject at hand, these towers will indeed be popular with the alliances. A commander tower in a capital system uses roughly half as much fuel as a normal large tower and constellation sovereignty means said towers won't be easy to attack. However just about everyone else is going to want these things too, since the fuel bonuses make operating a tower cheaper and as a result more profitable in industrial situations. The only place you won't see them used is in POS spamming or highly vulnerable systems. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

I would put my isk on high sec for faction towers. Same as faction battleships. Sure - they are used for pvp also by some ritch people but majority of them are used in high sec to run missions. Same way some people could afford faction towers for low sec / 0.0 but majority of them would be used as long term investments in high sec for R&D stuff where propablity of loss is smaller and it's possible to expect that they might be worth their price eventually in fuel savings.
At first their prices would be propably so high that those payback times would be astronomical. After initial stabilization (and depending how common drops they are) I would expect their price to stabilize around 1 to 2 years of payback time in fuel savings.

It might even be more than fuel savings. After all, there is a lot of time saving as well - both in logistics and the bog standard ice mining.

hmmm, highsec towers ar practically invulnerable so I definitely see a good market right there. It's not every day that 100bs show up to kill your large starbase in highsec.

the domination control tower is around 15% more economical too, along with more HP.

I'm not sure how popular these things will become tbh, speaking as a pirate i'm telling you right now I can't wait to find my fully faction fitted death star or faction mining pos in low sec, i'm gonna have that sucker ransomed or blown up so fast so fast.
Guess it depends on the total price but using a pos like this is pretty much like painting a giant bullseye on your wallet say "come sexually molest me"

You don't need 100 BS to gank an empire pos, but it helps.
I watched 12 battleships put a super hardened large caldari POS into reinforced mode in about 5-6 hours.
Of course, it was about as much fun as mining, but at least there was no hauling involved.

For a standard setup small pos 6 high SP bs pilotes fitted for the pos will take it out np.
If it's a very good pos i'd say 10 unless you wanto spend an evening there.
But who really goes after high sec pos's anyway? i've never heard of high sec pos pirates but then again I don't really travel those circles, I imagine it could be worth it though, provided it yields an industrial benefit and not merely military, as this is pointless in high sec.

I do.
Theres a lot of money to be made in ransoming the remaining large ship assembly arrays in high sec. Build capital ships 25% faster in safe space, once these are blown up they can't be replaced.

for big alliances it might be helpfull when some of the bonuses work as inteded but the problem si even when one of your 500 pos is 15% cheaper then the other 499 its doenst matter, and ofc when the dread blob comes your dead anyway.
So I see those more as a collectors item with maybe some use for ppl who think that those towers are cooler.

Where they are used will depend on their price, and how long the fuel usage bonus takes to pay that off. Extra time players don't have to spend hauling fuel is worth abit to.
