I have read many threads on setups but no one has given their opion on what they feel is the best all around PVP ship along with a set up for the ship. I am taking in to consideration: Fire Power Durability Performance I want to take this all in to account for fighting all types of ships solo or a small gang.
Please post some feed back with your ideal set up for the Best All Around PVP Ship.

There is no 1 ship.. everyone has their own opinions.. everyone will think a different ship is better. Whats the best ship for some may not be the best ship for others.
Do not assume you will be able to pick a solo pwnmobile and be rdy to play eve.. Though I whole heartedly recomend it.. then you can get owned by decent players that dont try to pick the FOTM ship, but pick the ship that suits them best and they have the skills to fly effectivly.
Just because you could fly said pwnmobile dosen't mean you can fight with it effectivly. ------------ This is not War... This is pest control - Dalek Sek

Nanocurse ftw
It can pretty much kill any non-capital ship, and if it can't, then it can escape
Though there are lots of other good ships

HaC's seem to be the Fav foe pirates going solo.
By pirates I mean they intend to hit 1st. And be the one to pick their kills.
Vagabond tough and fast can get to a ship in a belt before it has time to warp out, even if it is plenty far away. Not many will get away.

i like the sabre. it gets me more fights then any other ship. whether or not it can win most of them however, is a whole other matter.

If you are posting this so you can train towards "the best ship", BE WARNED: CCP has a LONG history of nerfing the "best" ships. Many many many many folks have spent months training towards a ceratin ship/fitting, only to have it nerfed out from under them.
Accept this now, and avoid the pain of shattered expectations.
The best option is to find a style you like, train it up, and stick with it, nerfed or un-nerfed.
Focusing on the "best" = Focusing on nerf bait.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

curse is mean 1v1. Most ships fill roles very well in small gangs. It just depends on what kind of gang strategies you're using.

I'd say the best overall is the Megathron. It can do solo, it can do gang, it can do fleet; it can tank, it can gank. What else could you ask for?

I think the Myrmidon is pretty good really, it is certianly cheaper and easier to get into then most of the other ships mentioned, im pretty sure that i could take an astarte in it :)
i think overall though the Curse or eos has got to be one of the best pvp ships

Best all-rounder *has* to be the Dominix imho, not because of any one setup, but because of its sheer versatility.
The huge dronebay alone gives you so many options, but you also have:
- plenty of mid slots for ew - great armour OR shield tank - damage coming from drones means the highs can be used for other stuff (nos, remote reppers for gang support etc) - or go full gank and do better than 1000 dps
As a tier 1 BS it's even pretty cheap... just a shame it's so fugly :) -------------- Poisoning the Chalice: Smartbombs as a Counter to Nos. |

simply amazing... only one person so far has listed a BS, that being the dominix. The curse gets mentioned alot... the question is, do you want the best ship for killing cruisers or the best at killing anything that comes it's way? or perhaps, do you want a ship than can make it out of a fight due to it's speed or due to it's ability to turn the opposition to a wreck?
When it comes down to the best PVP ship due to tank, firepower, performance.. a Good BS will be better than any command ship, recon, or hac. Solo PVP requires it's ability to be versitile, armor tank, and do some daamge. Dominix, as mentioned, is about the best solo PVP ship you can get.
The Hyperion is an exception to this. If you want to nosf fit your ship, the Hyperion can fit 4 guns, 4 nosf and be just as effective as the domi. Along with the 4 drones, the Hype will get a little more damage than the Domi while having a much better tank due to the ship bonuses (bonii). -------------------------------------- ---"What's in your wallet?"--- "There are two kinds of respect, fear and admiration.... I'll take what I can get" |
